Baby names you love but won’t use!

This is absolutely not meant to cause offence because they’re names we love but for some reason can’t use! I’ve seen this a lot on youtube and really want to give it a go, feel free to join

girl:

[name_u]Sailor[/name_u] - sounds gorgeous to me but is a bit too “out-there” and doesn’t fit with the rest of my favourite names.

[name_u]Billie[/name_u] - I have always loved this name and the music of [name_u]Billie[/name_u] [name_f]Eilish[/name_f] has rekindled my love however my family had a dog named [name_u]Billy[/name_u] and it just doesn’t feel right.

[name_f]Alabama[/name_f] - I adore this name and the way it sounds and all the potential cute nicknames ([name_u]Ali[/name_u], [name_f]Bama[/name_f], Bambam) which go along with it but it absolutely doesn’t suit my naming style and it seems a bit “out there” for where I live. also the child would be tortured with “sweet home alabama” everyday probably.

[name_u]August[/name_u]/[name_m]Augustus[/name_m]/[name_m]Augustine[/name_m] - These are names (i added augustus and augustine even though to me they are more masculine) I adore and potentially could use as a middle but for some reason doesn’t feel right as a first.

[name_f]Maggie[/name_f] - I cant find a longer name for [name_f]Maggie[/name_f] to be a nickname for! For some reason I just couldn’t use it on its own.

[name_f]Betsy[/name_f]/[name_f]Betty[/name_f] - I feel like it’s too old fashioned and like [name_f]Maggie[/name_f], I can’t find a longer name I love for either that I love.

[name_u]Tatum[/name_u] - yet again, doesn’t fit my naming style but is so cute in my opinion.

Boys:

[name_u]Percy[/name_u] - I completely love this name but I can’t picture it on a child or baby for some reason!

[name_m]Austin[/name_m] - again, doesn’t fit my naming style but for some reason I really love it.

[name_u]Riley[/name_u] - me and my dad both agreed that if we have another dog we are going to name it [name_u]Riley[/name_u] yet I still love the name on a little bit.

[name_m]Alexei[/name_m] - it just sounds so cool, kind of like [name_u]Max[/name_u], but i can’t envision it on my child personally.

[name_u]Mason[/name_u] - this name was ruined for me by a particularly evil boy I’ve met and now I can’t bear to use it.

[name_u]Finley[/name_u] - Same as [name_u]Mason[/name_u] in a way however the [name_u]Finley[/name_u] I know is very sweet but it just seems strange to name a child [name_u]Finley[/name_u] knowing that the person will probably think it’s after them hahaha. I might use it as a middle name however.

[name_m]Arthur[/name_m] - an inside joke within my family has sadly ruined this for me.

[name_m]Rhyley[/name_m]- I have two female’s in my family with this name (spelled [name_u]Rylee[/name_u] & [name_u]Rylie[/name_u]) but know a total of five (my two cousins and three spelled [name_u]Riley[/name_u]; two of which are guys).
[name_u]Finlay[/name_u]- I have a female cousin named [name_u]Finley[/name_u].
[name_u]Ashley[/name_u]- Maybe as a middle name but my family is really hawking with the bad feedback.
[name_u]Lindsay[/name_u]- Same as [name_u]Ashley[/name_u]. Also doesn’t help that my cousin is married to a girl named [name_u]Lindsay[/name_u].
[name_u]Whitney[/name_u]- Also the same issue as [name_u]Ashley[/name_u].
[name_m]Dick[/name_m]- The insults this one brings is just too much hassle.

Heulyn- I love it but the spelling would be too hard for Americans to understand and I don’t want to use Halen because that looks masculine to me.
[name_f]Leocadia[/name_f]- Too mystical for me to use in real life.

[name_f]Alina[/name_f] - absolutely love but my dad had a cat with this name so it would be a little weird

[name_m]Damian[/name_m] - It has such a modern feel but I’ve known a few [name_m]Damian[/name_m]’s in real life that ruin the name

[name_m]Julian[/name_m] - I like it, but using it doesn’t feel right

[name_f]Martina[/name_f] - something about it is so lovely, but I don’t like the inevitable nicknames [name_u]Marty[/name_u] or [name_f]Tina[/name_f]

[name_f]Kate[/name_f]- love but have a cousin named [name_f]Katelynn[/name_f] who goes by [name_f]Katie[/name_f]…so it’s to close for my liking.
[name_u]Echo[/name_u]- not brave enough to use.
[name_f]Elowen[/name_f]-DD nn is Already [name_f]Ellie[/name_f]
[name_f]Adeline[/name_f]- sounds like [name_m]Add[/name_m] a line
[name_f]Penelope[/name_f]- family dog name
[name_m]Barnaby[/name_m]-I’m afraid a son would be made fun of for this name…maybe a future cat…
[name_f]Liv[/name_f]- bad association with a [name_f]Liz[/name_f] so [name_f]Liv[/name_f] is way to close…
