Baby naming help, please!

What do you think of these names? Our last name is [name]Johnson[/name].

If it’s a girl:

[name]Penelope[/name] [name]June[/name]
[name]Penelope[/name] [name]Faye[/name]
[name]Daphne[/name] [name]Sophia[/name]
[name]Daphne[/name] [name]Olivia[/name]
We’re open to other possible names.

If it’s a boy:

[name]Graham[/name] [name]Tanner[/name] (we pronounce it like [name]Gram[/name])
[name]Greyson[/name] [name]Tanner[/name]
[name]Greyson[/name] [name]Theodore[/name]
[name]Grey[/name] [name]Tanner[/name]
We’re open to other possible names, but it must have the initials G.T.

my surname is one letter different, and I think [name]Penelope[/name] and [name]Daphne[/name] both sound fine with it. [name]Penelope[/name] [name]June[/name] and [name]Daphne[/name] [name]Olivia[/name] are both absolutely STUNNING. [name]Penelope[/name] has a slightly better flow as a FN, but the [name]June[/name] [name]Johnson[/name] gets a bit stuck. [name]Penelope[/name] [name]Olivia[/name] J has great flow, as does [name]Daphne[/name] [name]Olivia[/name] J.

I personally wouldn’t do two names ending in ‘son’, especially as both are only two syllables. My dad’s name is [name]Greg[/name], with same last name - well, it’s [name]Gregory[/name]. [name]Gregory[/name] [name]Theodore[/name] is a nice combo [name]IMO[/name].

You just named all of my concerns

If we go with [name]Penelope[/name], I would like a one syllable middle name. I haven’t come across anything that I love (that hubby will agree on).

I agree with you on [name]Greyson[/name] and the -son ending in the name and our last name. Hubby loves [name]Greydon[/name], but I just can’t do an -aiden name. We both sort of like [name]Graham[/name], but haven’t fallen in love with it. We both also like [name]Grey[/name], but it doesn’t feel like a full FN to us. Unfortunately the name [name]Greg[/name] has a major negative connotation for my [name]SIL[/name]. We’ve also thrown around [name]Gibson[/name].

[name]Penelope[/name] [name]June[/name] is sooo sweet, but it does get kind of sticky with the last name. Are there any other one syllable middles in the running? What about [name]Penelope[/name] [name]May[/name]? I love [name]Graham[/name] for you - but not with [name]Tanner[/name]. [name]Graham[/name] [name]Theodore[/name] would be to die for though!

[name]Graham[/name] is one of my favorite names ever. I like it worlds better than [name]Greyson[/name].

I like both of your girl names, with a slight edge for [name]Penelope[/name]. I love the nn [name]Nellie[/name], so that gets my vote. [name]Daphne[/name] is lovely, though, too.

[name]Just[/name] saw your second post.

What about [name]Penelope[/name] Bloom? Preserves that sweet “oo” sound.

And if you need a “G” name, but haven’t fallen in love yet:

[name]Gareth[/name]
[name]Geoffrey[/name]
[name]Glenn[/name]
[name]Granger[/name]
[name]Griffin[/name]
[name]Griffith[/name]
[name]Grover[/name]

I wanted to add that I’d probably try to stay away from names that can also be adjectives to your last name. They could be unfortunate, especially for a boy, with slang being what it is.

I love the nickname [name]Nellie[/name] too! [name]Penelope[/name] just has so many cute nicknames!

We both like [name]Penelope[/name] the best, but also kinda don’t want to deal with the comments about the Kardashian connection. That might be something that we get over in time though!

Such a shame, because [name]Penelope[/name] [name]June[/name] really is great.

[name]Penelope[/name] [name]Sage[/name]
[name]Penelope[/name] [name]Ann[/name]
[name]Penelope[/name] [name]Cate[/name]/[name]Kate[/name]
[name]Penelope[/name] [name]Tess[/name]
[name]Penelope[/name] [name]Ruth[/name]

Haha, I know! It just brings up images of a very sweet person for me. Darn last name!

Haha, yeah! I hear ya! Hubby is on the “names that can be made fun of” patrol. He lived with it his whole life, so he seems well aware.
