Our baby boy, [name_m]Nikolai[/name_m] [name_m]Pavel[/name_m], arrived on [name_u]December[/name_u] 15 at 5:15am, joining big sisters, [name_f]Mariel[/name_f] and [name_f]Corah[/name_f] [name_f]Rose[/name_f]. He came right in between St. [name_m]Nicholas[/name_m] [name_f]Eve[/name_f] and [name_u]Christmas[/name_u] [name_u]Day[/name_u]! His name and birthday are full of meaning for us. His middle name, [name_m]Pavel[/name_m], is his father’s name and my middle name is [name_u]Nichole[/name_u], so he is named after us both. DH’s late father’s birthday was St. [name_m]Nicholas[/name_m] [name_f]Eve[/name_f], so [name_m]Nikolai[/name_m] is a subtle nod to him as well. Then funny enough, while [name_m]Nikolai[/name_m] was born on Dec 15 European time, it was still Dec 14 US time - which was my dad’s birthday. My dad said that since he’ll have dual citizenship, it makes sense for him to have a “birthday” for each country! [name_m]Nikolai[/name_m] is the first grandson on both sides, after lots of girls, so we love that his name and birthday have connections to both grandpas We needed a name that fits in both of our countries and languages, and [name_m]Nikolai[/name_m] was perfect. His big sisters actively helped to pick his name, so he was definitely named by the whole family! And [name_m]Nikolai[/name_m] is just a bit Christmasy for our very [name_u]Christmas[/name_u] baby!
