Baby number 3 and can't decide on a name!

[name_m]Hi[/name_m] everyone - we are having a baby girl in [name_f]October[/name_f] and just can’t find a name we love.

Please be kind about the long names we’ve already chosen for the first 2 - our family has a history of this!

We already have the following:

[name_m]Lucas[/name_m] [name_u]Tate[/name_u] [name_m]Sebastian[/name_m]
[name_f]Delilah[/name_f] [name_f]Emelie[/name_f] [name_u]Caro[/name_u]

And loved both their names immediately but just can’t decide on this one for some reason.

Options so far - none of which we just have to have are:

  1. [name_f]Arianne[/name_f] or [name_f]Ariana[/name_f]
  2. [name_f]Carys[/name_f]/[name_f]Charis[/name_f] (though apparently the second spelling is the name of some form of illegal drug according to my husband!)
  3. [name_f]Thalia[/name_f] - my mum thinks it’s too close to [name_f]Delilah[/name_f] and we can’t decide on the pronunciation either!
  4. [name_f]Mimi[/name_f] - but not sure it sounds ok for a grown woman…

[name_f]Elizabeth[/name_f] and [name_f]Susan[/name_f] are the grannies so we would like to include them somehow but not the first names - so depending on what we go for, we would like their original spellings or [name_f]Elise[/name_f]/[name_f]Elsa[/name_f]/[name_f]Eliza[/name_f] and [name_f]Susan[/name_f]/[name_f]Susannah[/name_f] - just depends how much of a mouthful her name.

Your opinion and any other suggestions would be much appreciated!

[name_f]Sara[/name_f]

[name_f]Penelope[/name_f] was my first thought! [name_m]How[/name_m] about [name_f]Penelope[/name_f] [name_f]Susan[/name_f] [name_f]Elise[/name_f]?

What about [name_f]Suzanne[/name_f] to honor [name_f]Susan[/name_f]? I like the idea of [name_f]Elise[/name_f] [name_f]Suzanne[/name_f] for the double middle. I am not terrible fond of the firsts that you are suggesting so far. I think [name_f]Carys[/name_f] is the front runner for me. [name_m]How[/name_m] about [name_f]Carys[/name_f] [name_f]Elise[/name_f] [name_f]Suzanne[/name_f]? It has a nice flow.

Would you consider the name [name_f]Cerise[/name_f]? It incorporates all the same sounds as [name_f]Elise[/name_f] and [name_f]Susan[/name_f], as well as [name_f]Carys[/name_f].

What about [name_f]Miriam[/name_f] [name_f]Susannah[/name_f] [name_f]Elise[/name_f]? (nicknamed [name_f]Mimi[/name_f])

Or there’s always [name_f]Minette[/name_f], [name_f]Mirabelle[/name_f], [name_f]Mireille[/name_f], or [name_f]Miranda[/name_f] to give you [name_f]Mimi[/name_f].

[name_f]My[/name_f] name is M!r@nd@ Sus@n and my older brother called me [name_f]Mimi[/name_f] as a pet name the entire time we were growing up. I love my name and feel very proud of its beauty,
I like M!r@nd@ Sus@n [name_f]Eliz[/name_f]@beth as a combo. The names all together mean “admirable or extraordinary lily, pledged to God.” And M!r@nd@ sounds very pretty with [name_f]Del!l@h[/name_f] and [name_m]Luc@s[/name_m].

Perhaps

[name_f]Abrianne[/name_f] [name_f]Eliza[/name_f] [name_f]Suzanne[/name_f]
[name_f]Judith[/name_f] [name_f]Elise[/name_f] [name_f]Carys[/name_f]
[name_f]Mariel[/name_f] [name_f]Susannah[/name_f] [name_f]Elize[/name_f]

For me, [name_m]Lucas[/name_m] and [name_f]Carys[/name_f] are too close to go alongside [name_f]Delilah[/name_f] and ‘fit’ - so I’d cross that off. [name_f]Thalia[/name_f] is also too close to [name_f]Delilah[/name_f] to go alongside [name_m]Lucas[/name_m] and ‘fit’ - so bye, bye to that too.

That leaves [name_f]Mimi[/name_f] and [name_f]Arianne[/name_f]/[name_f]Ariana[/name_f]. [name_f]Mimi[/name_f] is [name_m]WAY[/name_m] too cutesy for a female past their preteen years and [name_f]Arianne[/name_f]/[name_f]Ariana[/name_f] is NMS, although [name_f]Ariana[/name_f], [name_m]Lucas[/name_m] and [name_f]Delilah[/name_f] go together.

So, based on the above, how about:

[name_m]Lucas[/name_m], [name_f]Delilah[/name_f] and [name_f]Ariana[/name_f] [name_f]Suzanne[/name_f] [name_f]Elise[/name_f]
[name_m]Lucas[/name_m], [name_f]Delilah[/name_f] and [name_f]Arianne[/name_f] [name_f]Eliza[/name_f] [name_f]Sue[/name_f]
[name_m]Lucas[/name_m], [name_f]Delilah[/name_f] and [name_f]Arielle[/name_f] [name_f]Susannah[/name_f] [name_f]Elise[/name_f]
[name_m]Lucas[/name_m], [name_f]Delilah[/name_f] and [name_f]Kyra[/name_f] [name_f]Eliza[/name_f] [name_f]Suzanne[/name_f]
[name_m]Lucas[/name_m], [name_f]Delilah[/name_f] and [name_f]Emily[/name_f] “[name_f]Mimi[/name_f]” [name_f]Susannah[/name_f] [name_f]Beth[/name_f]

The first name that popped into my head to go with [name_m]Lucas[/name_m] and [name_f]Delilah[/name_f] is [name_f]Nora[/name_f] [name_f]Elizabeth[/name_f]!

Suggestions for middle names instead of [name_f]Elizabeth[/name_f] and [name_f]Susan[/name_f]:

[name_f]Isabella[/name_f] and [name_f]Lily[/name_f]

[name_f]Isabella[/name_f] is actually a form of [name_f]Elizabeth[/name_f] and [name_f]Susan[/name_f] means lily

[name_f]Beth[/name_f]-[name_f]Anne[/name_f] would be sweet and simple - it is the endings of [name_f]Elizabeth[/name_f] and [name_f]Susan[/name_f]

For the first name you might like:

[name_f]Cecelia[/name_f] “[name_f]Cece[/name_f]”
[name_f]Amelia[/name_f] “[name_f]Mia[/name_f]” or “[name_f]Mimi[/name_f]” could work
[name_f]Milena[/name_f] “[name_f]Mila[/name_f]”
[name_f]Nina[/name_f]
[name_f]Natalia[/name_f]
[name_f]Aurora[/name_f]
[name_f]Athena[/name_f]
[name_f]Aria[/name_f]
[name_f]Thea[/name_f]
[name_f]Rhiannon[/name_f] - I think this sounds amazing with [name_f]Delilah[/name_f]

HTH

I like [name_f]Arianne[/name_f] [name_f]Elizabeth[/name_f] [name_f]Susan[/name_f]. Your children have beautiful names!

I think [name_f]Susannah[/name_f] is perfect with [name_f]Delilah[/name_f]!

Hmm…

[name_f]My[/name_f] favourite combination is [name_f]Carys[/name_f] [name_f]Susannah[/name_f] [name_f]Elise[/name_f] I just think it’s so elegant : )

I’m going to second the idea of [name_f]Miriam[/name_f] nn [name_f]Mimi[/name_f]. [name_f]Miriam[/name_f] goes very well with your children’s names.
[name_f]Miriam[/name_f] [name_f]Susannah[/name_f] [name_f]Elise[/name_f]

Wow, thank you everyone for all your views and suggestions, it has been really really helpful. I think our top runners are [name_f]Miranda[/name_f], [name_f]Arianne[/name_f] and [name_f]Carys[/name_f] but we have another 11 weeks to go - felt quite teary about all your responses and that you’ve taken the time to be so helpful! x
