I always thought girls names were easiest but am struggling a little!
We’re having a baby girl, who will be a sister to [name_u]Finn[/name_u] [name_m]Samuel[/name_m] [name_m]John[/name_m]. (His middle names are family names).
Our surname begins with D and I don’t much like the double-d sound (despite the fact [name_f]Daisy[/name_f] is on my list).
My middle name is [name_f]Anne[/name_f] and so is my mums, but I think if I pay homage to this it will be with [name_f]Annabel[/name_f], not boring [name_f]Anne[/name_f].
[name_f]Elsie[/name_f] has been a favourite for a few years and would’ve been [name_u]Finn[/name_u]'s name if he were a girl. So it should be an easy pick, but I’m still contemplating.
My personal favourites are [name_f]Maggie[/name_f], [name_f]Daisy[/name_f] and [name_f]Sylvie[/name_f], but if you’ve loved [name_f]Elsie[/name_f] longest and it sounds nice with the surname, I’d go with your heart. Sounds like you wouldn’t regret using a longtime love, and [name_f]Elsie[/name_f] [name_f]Annabel[/name_f] is very sweet.
From your list, besides [name_f]Elsie[/name_f], I just love [name_f]Lola[/name_f], [name_f]Maisie[/name_f], [name_f]Daisy[/name_f], and [name_f]Sylvie[/name_f].
Thanks for all the great responses!
I feel like [name_f]Elsie[/name_f] [name_f]Annabel[/name_f] is my front runner at the moment.
It’s funny how so many of your suggestions include other names I’ve had on the list but removed for a reason or another ([name_f]April[/name_f], [name_f]Rosie[/name_f], [name_f]Poppy[/name_f], [name_f]Cleo[/name_f], [name_f]Stella[/name_f], [name_f]Elodie[/name_f] were all on there!!)
As much as I like [name_f]Lily[/name_f], it’s currently number 11 in Australia (where I live) so probably a bit too popular!
Sounds like [name_f]Sadie[/name_f], [name_f]Maisie[/name_f] and [name_f]Sylvie[/name_f] are also liked by you guys.
I think [name_f]Sylvie[/name_f] is pretty, but dislike [name_f]Sylvia[/name_f] (I think of an old lady) and wonder if they’re too close?
Also, this might just be an Australian thing, but [name_f]Sadie[/name_f] will definitely be thought of as ‘the cleaning lady’! Very popular song from the 60s!!
Haha! This is exactly why I can’t on board with [name_f]Sadie[/name_f]; I sing the song every time I hear it!!
[name_f]Elsie[/name_f] [name_f]Annabel[/name_f] and [name_f]Maisie[/name_f] [name_f]Annabel[/name_f] are definitely my favourites from your list. You might also like [name_f]Millie[/name_f].
From your list I really like [name_f]Maggie[/name_f]. [name_u]Finn[/name_u] and [name_f]Maggie[/name_f] are a great sibset but also great individually as well. I think [name_f]Molly[/name_f] would work well too
Quick suggestion: I like [name_f]Sylvie[/name_f]– it’s adorable, fresh, and just spunky enough, but why not pair it with a name like [name_f]Annaliese[/name_f] instead of [name_f]Annabel[/name_f]? [name_f]Sylvie[/name_f] [name_f]Anneliese[/name_f]/[name_f]Annaliese[/name_f] is the cutest name ever! Gl with your naming!!
I think your first choice of [name_f]Elsie[/name_f] [name_f]Annabel[/name_f] is the best. It flows really well, is pretty, and is a bit more unusual than [name_f]Lily[/name_f].
My second choice would be [name_f]Maggie[/name_f].
