Baby Sister for Vera and Felicity

We are trying to come up with a solid name choice for our third child. What would be a good choice to make a sibset with [name_f]Vera[/name_f] and [name_f]Felicity[/name_f]? We would like something that is close in style, familiar but not very popular.

Here are some names we like:

[name_f]Maeve[/name_f]
[name_f]Iris[/name_f]
[name_f]Marin[/name_f] (prn. ma-[name_f]RIN[/name_f])
[name_u]Simone[/name_u]
[name_f]Laurel[/name_f]
[name_f]Winifred[/name_f] (like [name_f]Winnie[/name_f], but not crazy about [name_f]Winifred[/name_f])
[name_f]Dorothea[/name_f] ([name_f]Dottie[/name_f])
[name_f]Genevieve[/name_f]
[name_f]Sylvia[/name_f]/[name_f]Sylvie[/name_f] (this fits our vintage/not popular requirement, but are the sounds too similar to V&F?)
[name_f]Delphine[/name_f]
[name_f]Josephine[/name_f] (I like, but my husband doesn’t because his name is [name_m]Joseph[/name_m])
[name_f]Hazel[/name_f] (we like but too popular)
[name_f]Camille[/name_f]
[name_f]Imogen[/name_f] (could [name_f]Ginny[/name_f] be used a nn or would this be weird?)

Look forward to your opinions!

I [name_u]LOVE[/name_u] [name_f]Delphine[/name_f]. I think it sounds absolutely beautiful with [name_f]Vera[/name_f] & [name_f]Felicity[/name_f].

[name_f]Marin[/name_f], [name_f]Laurel[/name_f], and [name_f]Dorothea[/name_f] sound too similar to [name_f]Vera[/name_f] to me, when you then add in [name_f]Felicity[/name_f], so a 3rd name without “r” in it seems to sound best to me. [name_f]Imogen[/name_f] just doesn’t seem to match either [name_f]Vera[/name_f] or [name_f]Felicity[/name_f] to me, which are both graceful but not overly “frilly.”

[name_u]Simone[/name_u], [name_f]Maeve[/name_f], and [name_f]Camille[/name_f] would be my runners-up to Dephine.

I [name_u]LOVE[/name_u] your daughters’ names! Anyway, I think [name_f]Maeve[/name_f], [name_f]Sylvie[/name_f], and [name_f]Camille[/name_f] are perfect!

Nice list. With [name_f]Vera[/name_f] and [name_f]Felicity[/name_f] I like…

[name_f]Iris[/name_f]
[name_f]Marin[/name_f]
[name_u]Simone[/name_u]
[name_f]Genevieve[/name_f]
[name_f]Delphine[/name_f]
[name_f]Camille[/name_f]

There are so many lovely names that I would try to narrow it down to a couple to take to the hospital and see which one seems like “the one” after you have met your baby daughter. I would just choose my favourite as they are all fine with [name_f]Vera[/name_f] and [name_f]Felicity[/name_f]. [name_f]Do[/name_f] you already have a middle name chosen? If not, maybe [name_f]Josephine[/name_f] would be a nice honour name for her daddy. [name_f]Iris[/name_f] [name_f]Josephine[/name_f] is gorgeous.

My favorite names on your list are [name_f]Maeve[/name_f], [name_f]Iris[/name_f], and [name_f]Josephine[/name_f]. However, with [name_f]Vera[/name_f] and Felicty, I like [name_u]Simone[/name_u] and [name_f]Camille[/name_f].

[name_u]Love[/name_u] [name_f]Marin[/name_f], [name_u]Simone[/name_u] and [name_f]Camille[/name_f]!

I like [name_u]Simone[/name_u], [name_f]Camille[/name_f] and [name_f]Imogen[/name_f]. I prefer [name_f]Daphne[/name_f] over [name_f]Delphine[/name_f].

[name_f]Vera[/name_f], [name_f]Felicity[/name_f] and

[name_f]Naomi[/name_f]
[name_f]Noemi[/name_f]
[name_f]Cecile[/name_f]
[name_f]Maude[/name_f]
[name_f]Elettra[/name_f]
[name_f]Mimi[/name_f]-[name_f]Rose[/name_f]
[name_u]Damaris[/name_u]
[name_f]Delores[/name_f]
[name_f]Suzette[/name_f] ([name_f]Suzie[/name_f])
[name_f]Agnes[/name_f]
[name_f]Avis[/name_f]
[name_f]Ines[/name_f]
[name_f]Lucie[/name_f]
[name_f]Lucia[/name_f]

Thanks for all the suggestions so far! My first choice at this point is [name_u]Simone[/name_u], but DH isn’t sure. I really like [name_f]Delphine[/name_f], which is DH’s grandma’s name. I think it’s great to honor her; DH, on the other hand, likes each child to have her own name. I’ll see if he budges on that considering his grandma is so great

I have a question about [name_f]Camille[/name_f]- our last name is pronounced Keekly. Does the alliteration in [name_f]Camille[/name_f] Keekly sound good or is it too much? My name is [name_f]Claire[/name_f] so there are repeated sounds in my full name, but of course ny name was chosen with my maiden name.

Given our last name, would [name_f]Camille[/name_f] or [name_u]Simone[/name_u] be a better choice?

I like [name_u]Simone[/name_u] best because it bridges the stronger [name_f]Vera[/name_f] and more fancy [name_f]Felicity[/name_f]. I recently [name_f]Edwina[/name_f] nn [name_f]Winnie[/name_f] and I think this would work well too. [name_u]Simone[/name_u] [name_f]Camille[/name_f] is a great combination too. My other favorites from your list with your sibset are: [name_f]Imogen[/name_f] and [name_f]Iris[/name_f]. Because [name_f]Vera[/name_f]'s name is so strong with the V, I’d avoid other V names (they compete a little too much to me).

Other possibilities:

[name_f]Edith[/name_f]
[name_f]Eliza[/name_f]
[name_f]Esme[/name_f]
[name_f]Esther[/name_f]
[name_f]Helen[/name_f]
[name_f]Louise[/name_f]/[name_f]Louisa[/name_f]
[name_f]Lydia[/name_f]
[name_f]Rose[/name_f]
[name_f]Rowena[/name_f]
[name_f]Roxana[/name_f]
[name_f]Tabitha[/name_f]
[name_f]Tamsin[/name_f]

This is my personal opinion on the names you have considered. I love both names [name_f]Vera[/name_f] and [name_f]Felicity[/name_f]!

[name_f]Maeve[/name_f] ~ [name_u]Love[/name_u] This and think it is lovely with her sisters names
[name_f]Iris[/name_f] ~ Reminds me too much of an eye
[name_f]Marin[/name_f] ~ Sounds very old fashioned to me
[name_u]Simone[/name_u] ~ I don’t usually like names that are female versions of male names and this name also sounds very drawn out and drowsy to me, I don’t like that the name says Moan in it either
[name_f]Laurel[/name_f] ~ Reminds me of the word [name_m]Oral[/name_m], and i wouldn’t want my child to be associated with that word. I love [name_f]Laura[/name_f],[name_u]Laurie[/name_u] and [name_f]Lauren[/name_f] though.
[name_f]Winifred[/name_f] ~ [name_f]Winnie[/name_f] is cute, but i don’t like [name_f]Winifred[/name_f] at all as it sounds old and masculine because of “[name_m]Fred[/name_m]”
[name_f]Dorothea[/name_f] ~ Again [name_f]Dottie[/name_f] is cute but i don’t like [name_f]Dorothea[/name_f], I love [name_f]Thea[/name_f] though.
[name_f]Genevieve[/name_f] ~ This is very pretty
[name_f]Sylvia[/name_f] ~ [name_m]Don[/name_m]'t like this at all and again sounds very old and dated
[name_f]Sylvie[/name_f] ~ Like this name and think it is cute, I don’t think it is too close to [name_f]Vera[/name_f] or [name_f]Felicity[/name_f], I think it matches in nicely as it contains some of the same letters and sounds.
[name_f]Delphine[/name_f] ~ Again sounds too old and dated
[name_f]Josephine[/name_f] ~ Again sounds a little old and i personally wouldn’t use it considering her your husbands name is [name_m]Joseph[/name_m].
[name_f]Hazel[/name_f] ~ This is really pretty and while still being an older name, it does not remind me of an old women. It has the same feel as [name_f]Vera[/name_f] and [name_f]Felicity[/name_f] but it is getting more popular now so i understand why you wouldn’t want to use it.
[name_f]Camille[/name_f] ~ This is pretty and elegant, but she might get called Camel.
[name_f]Imogen[/name_f] ~ This name is really nice and i thing that [name_f]Ginny[/name_f] is a lovely nick name

Dislike: [name_f]Iris[/name_f],[name_f]Marin[/name_f],[name_u]Simone[/name_u],[name_f]Laurel[/name_f],[name_f]Winifred[/name_f],[name_f]Dorothea[/name_f],[name_f]Sylvia[/name_f],[name_f]Delphine[/name_f] and[name_f]Josephine[/name_f].
Like: [name_f]Maeve[/name_f], [name_f]Sylvie[/name_f],[name_f]Hazel[/name_f], [name_f]Camille[/name_f], [name_f]Imogen[/name_f] and Geneveive

My Favorites
~ [name_f]Vera[/name_f],[name_f]Felicity[/name_f] and [name_f]Maeve[/name_f]
~ [name_f]Vera[/name_f],[name_f]Felicity[/name_f] and [name_f]Sylvie[/name_f]
~ [name_f]Vera[/name_f],[name_f]Felicity[/name_f] and [name_f]Hazel[/name_f]

Other Suggestions
~ [name_f]Laura[/name_f]
~ [name_u]Laurie[/name_u]
~ [name_f]Lauren[/name_f]
~ [name_f]Thea[/name_f]
~ Taissa
~ [name_u]Sage[/name_u]
~ [name_u]Evelyn[/name_u]

Although [name_f]Laura[/name_f] and [name_f]Thea[/name_f] might be too close to [name_f]Vera[/name_f], but that is up to you to decide.
I would name her ~ [name_f]Maeve[/name_f],[name_f]Sylvie[/name_f],[name_u]Laurie[/name_u],Taissa or [name_u]Sage[/name_u]

I prefer [name_f]Iris[/name_f] or [name_f]Maeve[/name_f] with [name_f]Felicity[/name_f] and [name_f]Vera[/name_f].

I like Imogen or Maeve the best with Vera & Felicity.
