I’m expecting baby girl number 2 in the next few months. Our first is [name_f]Rosalie[/name_f] [name_f]Ella[/name_f] after my grandmother who was [name_f]Rosalie[/name_f] [name_f]Ellen[/name_f]. I’m trying to come up with a beautiful complementary name but also strong by itself. I feel like everything I like is either shot down by hubby or snatched by people I know (can’t use [name_u]Everly[/name_u], [name_u]Evelyn[/name_u] or [name_f]Maeve[/name_f] due to proximity).
My top contender is [name_f]Emma[/name_f] [name_f]Jane[/name_f] or [name_f]Emma[/name_f] [name_f]Catherine[/name_f] which husband has not shot down to this point. Please give me your beautiful suggestions!
I love your daughter’s name! I also really love the name [name_f]Emma[/name_f] [name_f]Jane[/name_f] - so classic, beautiful, familiar but full of character.
Firstly [name_f]Rosalie[/name_f] [name_f]Ella[/name_f] is such a beautiful name really elegant. I love that the name honours your Grandmother. Have you got any other family names that you would like to use? Maybe having another familial tie would be the way to go?
Thank you!! I’ve been going through the family trees. I haven’t loved anything that I have found thus far. [name_f]My[/name_f] other grandmother is [name_f]Catherine[/name_f] [name_f]Marcella[/name_f]. I had intentions of using [name_f]Marcella[/name_f] but my brother snagged it first (even though he had to call me to ask what her middle name was ).
This is beautiful! I love how it also honours your other grandmother. It is a sweet tie between your two daughters, and carries on the legacy of two beloved women in your life.
I like [name_f]Rosalie[/name_f] [name_f]Ella[/name_f], it’s feminine and classy.
[name_f]Emma[/name_f] is too common and trendy to be paired with [name_f]Rosalie[/name_f] in my opinion.
[name_u]Evelyn[/name_u] would have been really pretty.
Other E names:
[name_f]Rosalie[/name_f] and [name_f]Elodie[/name_f]
[name_f]Rosalie[/name_f] and [name_f]Estelle[/name_f]
[name_f]Rosalie[/name_f] and [name_f]Esther[/name_f]
[name_f]Rosalie[/name_f] and [name_f]Evelina[/name_f] ( maybe you could use it?)
[name_f]Rosalie[/name_f] and [name_f]Emmanuelle[/name_f] ( I think it’s more elegant and suited than [name_f]Emma[/name_f] alone)
[name_f]Rosalie[/name_f] and [name_f]Elizabeth[/name_f]
[name_f]Rosalie[/name_f] and [name_f]Eulalie[/name_f] or [name_f]Eulalia[/name_f]
Rosalie [name_f]Ella[/name_f] is so pretty! [name_f]Emma[/name_f] is a nice name. I really like [name_f]Emma[/name_f] [name_f]Jane[/name_f]. It has a very clean, polished, classic & sweet feeling. [name_f]Emma[/name_f] is super popular though, if that bothers you.
Sorry for any repeats, but here are a few more ideas:
I think [name_u]Vivian[/name_u] is great with [name_f]Rosalie[/name_f]. I also like the suggestions of [name_f]Emmeline[/name_f] and [name_f]Eloise[/name_f]. I agree that with a family name for the first, it feels like the second should have a family connection too. What are your husband’s grandmothers’ names?
Husbands grandmothers are [name_f]Phyllis[/name_f] [name_u]Joan[/name_u] and [name_f]Harriet[/name_f] (I haven’t been successful finding out her middle name) both of which he doesnt want to pursue and I have to say I agree.
I agree that [name_f]Emma[/name_f] (though my great-grandmother’s name) is so popular and trendy right now and frankly, pales in comparison to [name_f]Rosalie[/name_f], especially when paired with [name_f]Jane[/name_f]. It also feels really close to [name_f]Ella[/name_f] ([name_f]Rosalie[/name_f]’s middle) and while I love [name_f]Ivy[/name_f] [name_f]Marcella[/name_f], [name_f]Marcella[/name_f] also repeats [name_f]Ella[/name_f]. But maybe [name_f]Emma[/name_f] would make a cute middle name for sister, so there is that special connection. [name_u]Vivian[/name_u] is great, but I like [name_f]Viviana[/name_f] slightly more. Overall, I’d look for something equally substantial for [name_f]Rosalie[/name_f]’s sister.
My very first thought was [name_f]Bonnibel[/name_f], which is so cute, but I would avoid B names with a J last initial. [name_f]Christabel[/name_f] or [name_f]Corabel[/name_f] would work. [name_f]Christabel[/name_f] [name_f]Ruth[/name_f], [name_f]Corabel[/name_f] [name_f]Emma[/name_f], [name_f]Christabel[/name_f] [name_f]Jane[/name_f]. [name_f]Maribel[/name_f] would be lovely. [name_f]Maribel[/name_f] [name_f]Kate[/name_f].
How about [name_f]Philomena[/name_f] or [name_f]Filia[/name_f] to honor a [name_f]Phyllis[/name_f] or Arietty to honor a [name_f]Harriet[/name_f]?
[name_f]Philomena[/name_f] [name_f]Ruth[/name_f], [name_f]Filia[/name_f] [name_f]Catherine[/name_f], or Arietty [name_f]Kate[/name_f].
You could also do [name_f]Flora[/name_f] for [name_f]Phyllis[/name_f], but [name_f]Flora[/name_f] may my be too flowery with [name_f]Rosalie[/name_f].
Other ideas:
Ember (close to [name_f]Emma[/name_f], but with a twist) [name_u]Ember[/name_u] [name_f]Jane[/name_f], [name_u]Ember[/name_u] [name_u]Vivian[/name_u]
[name_f]Caterina[/name_f] or [name_f]Carina[/name_f] (honors [name_f]Catherine[/name_f]) - [name_f]Caterina[/name_f] [name_f]Jane[/name_f] or [name_f]Carina[/name_f] [name_f]Lucille[/name_f] would be lovely. I actually adore the sister pairing of [name_f]Rosalie[/name_f] and [name_f]Carina[/name_f].
[name_f]Melody[/name_f] - maybe a little sing-songy with [name_f]Rosalie[/name_f], but [name_f]Melody[/name_f] [name_f]Emma[/name_f] is so sweet.
[name_f]Natasha[/name_f] [name_f]Ruth[/name_f]
[name_f]Elena[/name_f] [name_f]Catherine[/name_f] ([name_f]Elena[/name_f] still may be too close to [name_f]Ella[/name_f])
[name_f]Gwendolyn[/name_f] [name_f]Emma[/name_f] or [name_f]Guinevere[/name_f] [name_f]Emma[/name_f]
[name_f]Janelle[/name_f] [name_u]Vivian[/name_u]
[name_f]Abigail[/name_f] [name_f]Emma[/name_f]
[name_u]Juniper[/name_u] [name_f]Emma[/name_f] - [name_f]Rosalie[/name_f] and [name_u]Juniper[/name_u] is so cute: [name_f]Rosie[/name_f] and [name_f]Junie[/name_f]
[name_f]Valentina[/name_f] [name_f]Jane[/name_f]
[name_f]Wilhelmina[/name_f]/Willamina [name_f]Ruth[/name_f]
[name_f]Annika[/name_f] [name_f]Lucille[/name_f]
[name_f]Elowen[/name_f] [name_f]Kate[/name_f]
[name_f]Tabitha[/name_f] [name_f]Jane[/name_f] - [name_f]Rosalie[/name_f] and [name_f]Tabitha[/name_f] sound great together
[name_f]Cecilia[/name_f] [name_f]Kate[/name_f]
[name_f]Gabrielle[/name_f] [name_f]Emma[/name_f]
From a mix for these names that would go with [name_f]Rosalie[/name_f] [name_f]Ella[/name_f], I would choose [name_f]Emelia[/name_f] [name_f]Catherine[/name_f] [name_u]Jackson[/name_u] or [name_f]Emma[/name_f] [name_f]Marcella[/name_f] [name_u]Jackson[/name_u]
I love [name_f]Emma[/name_f] [name_f]Catherine[/name_f]. I have [name_f]Emma[/name_f] [name_f]Katerina[/name_f] on my list (nn [name_f]Emma[/name_f]-[name_f]Kate[/name_f]). I also like the suggestion of [name_f]Emmeline[/name_f] [name_f]Kate[/name_f].
Congratulations!! I think [name_f]Rosalie[/name_f] & [name_f]Emma[/name_f] go very nicely together! They are both very classic, feminine names. [name_f]My[/name_f] only concern may be the popularity difference, however [name_f]Emma[/name_f] is still a gorgeous name and goes so well with [name_f]Rosalie[/name_f].
I love [name_f]Emma[/name_f] [name_f]Jane[/name_f] & [name_f]Emma[/name_f] [name_f]Catherine[/name_f], but I think [name_f]Emma[/name_f] [name_f]Catherine[/name_f] looks nicer alongside [name_f]Rosalie[/name_f] [name_f]Ella[/name_f]
