Hello!
I am pregnant with a beautiful and nameless little (???). If the thing is a Boy he will be:
[name]Hugo[/name] [name]Jefferson[/name] [name]Winter[/name]
Girls are more difficult. Our top three right now are:
- [name]Hazel[/name] (he picked this one…and he doesn’t think of many, so I latched on. I think it’s lovely, and its his great grandmother’s name. I sometimes feel like it is TOO soft, but I’m working with it.)
Combo:
[name]Hazel[/name] [name]Paloma[/name] [name]Winter[/name]
(We are hoping the “[name]Paloma[/name]” is not too out there. We aren’t Spanish speaking and have no latin heritage. However, we are very devout Catholics, and love the religious symbolism and peaceful/hopeful associations of “dove.” Also, we have long loved the name [name]Jemima[/name]–which also means “dove”–but have decided that little [name]Jemima[/name] [name]Winter[/name] just ain’t gonna happen in our family and in our country. (tear!) To me, [name]Paloma[/name] has the same spiritual charge and peaceful tone as [name]Jemima[/name]…without the pancake problem. Thoughts?)
- [name]Harriet[/name] (my grandmother’s name. [name]Love[/name] [name]Harriet[/name]. Husband likes it…wonders if it sounds too “hard.” He likes “[name]Hattie[/name],” but I’m not so sure.
The combo:
[name]Harriet[/name] [name]Consuelo[/name] [name]Winter[/name]
(Once again…the Spanish thing. [name]Consuelo[/name] meaning “consolation” which is lovely. Also Nuestra [name]Senora[/name] del [name]Consuelo[/name] is a title of the Virgin [name]Mary[/name]: Our Lady of Consolation. Also, I love the sound–so many vowels after the Germanic sounds of [name]Harriet[/name]…and that O ending. Thoughts?)
- [name]Rosemary[/name]. ([name]Rosemary[/name] is mine…husband isn’t quite sure. I’m into herbs and flowers. I like the possible reference to the Virgin [name]Mary[/name]. I like the nicknames. And when DH and I first started dating he called me “[name]Rose[/name]”)
Combos? combos here are tougher…could you help? I’ve come up with:
[name]Rosemary[/name] [name]Lucie[/name] [name]Winter[/name] (too much eee sound?)
[name]Rosemary[/name] [name]Lorraine[/name] [name]Winter[/name]
[name]Rosemary[/name] [name]Eleanor[/name] [name]Winter[/name]
umm…it’s sortof tough. We would like to use a family name…here are a few:
[name]Lois[/name], [name]Patricia[/name], [name]Harriet[/name], [name]Elizabeth[/name], [name]Mabel[/name], [name]Lucille[/name], [name]Kathryn[/name], [name]Louise[/name]…
Thoughts?
