We are expecting a baby sister in [name_f]February[/name_f] and need some help with choosing her middle name. First name will be [name_f]Emilia[/name_f]. Big sister is [name_f]Sofia[/name_f] [name_f]Constance[/name_f].
Big sisters middle name is inspired by paternal grandmother (Connie), however maternal grandmothers (Randi) name is not suited as we are an norwegian/english family. Perhaps a name inspired by the meaning of her name (i.e Isabelle) could work?
Kind of like romantic/classical names, but open for all options as long as it works in both Norwegian/scandinavian and english.
Is there a reason why [name_f]Randi[/name_f] doesn’t work? It has previously been popular in both Norway & the US so it seems cross-cultural enough to me!
But if you just don’t love [name_f]Randi[/name_f], maybe…
[name_f]Andrine[/name_f] (Norwegian feminine form of [name_m]Andrew[/name_m] that shares a lot of sounds with Randi)
[name_f]Miranda[/name_f] (has the “rand” of Randi)
[name_f]Amandine[/name_f] or [name_f]Candida[/name_f] (the “andi” of Randi)
[name_f]Raimonda[/name_f], [name_f]Rosalind[/name_f], [name_f]Rosamund[/name_f] & Rosenda (share the R initial and distinct “nd” sound)
[name_f]Rani[/name_f], [name_f]Rini[/name_f] or [name_f]Romi[/name_f] (similar short names with an R initial and -i ending)
S0fia C0nstance is gorgeous such a lovely name. Emilia is also beautiful.
I love the idea of Miranda & Rani they would be lovely.
So Randi means ‘shield-wolf’ so maybe a name with a similar meaning would work
Lupita ~ valley of the wolf
Lovella ~ Wolf
Kiki ~ she Wolf
Kelina ~ noble wolf
Lovetta ~ young wolf
Alternatively in my culture we honour loved ones by either using a name that starts with the same letter or even better starts and ends with the same letter. So some ideas to honour a Randi could be
Rani
Rumi
Remi
Or names that have a similar ending/sound to Randi these ideas could be
[name_f]Sofia[/name_f] [name_f]Constance[/name_f] and [name_f]Emilia[/name_f] are beautiful!
[name_f]My[/name_f] mom did not want her name used - she hates her name so I used the letters and made an honour name / word scramble as our daughter middle
