My husband is not really crazy about [name]Lincoln[/name] even though I love it. I’m not as crazy about [name]Gideon[/name] as I once was. And my husband isn’t a big fan of [name]Graham[/name].
So here we are…
I need a boy’s name. We have a daughter already, [name]Ainsley[/name] [name]Morgan[/name].
Some new thoughts: [name]Arthur[/name], [name]Oscar[/name], and [name]Callum[/name]. I love [name]Arthur[/name], but have never liked the idea of have siblings with the same first initial. And [name]Callum[/name] is the name of our day care provider’s son, so I’d feel like I’m stealing. My husband likes [name]Oliver[/name] and [name]Arthur[/name]. I proposed [name]Oscar[/name] as an alternative to [name]Oliver[/name] because I think [name]Oliver[/name] is too popular.

I think [name]Oscar[/name] and [name]Arthur[/name] both sound nice with your daughter’s name. Does your husband like [name]Oscar[/name]?

I hate to like bash your names, they’re lovely. But I think of [name]Oscar[/name] as a dog name and I wouldn’ t want to go through high school as [name]Arthur[/name]. Again, lovely names, just not very usable to me. I really like [name]Oliver[/name], and it’s not too popular in [name]America[/name]. You could always use “Oli” as a nickname. A few suggestions:

Name bashing welcome - especially with thoughtful reasons and suggested alternatives! I post to get the opinions of others. Try as we might, it’s hard to think of everything “wrong” or “right” with your name choices.
I liked [name]Miles[/name] and [name]Finlay[/name], but they were vetoed by hubby. I do like [name]Elliot[/name], but our surname begins with E and any name that ends with a strong consonant blends with our last name. [name]Callan[/name] and [name]Jonah[/name] were on my list. ([name]Callan[/name] had too many spellings and we have a friend with a baby named [name]Jonah[/name].)
