My husband and I are having a lot of trouble deciding on a name for our first DD. We generally like classic names, which seems to be really popular now. Many of the names on our list are also family names, which would be nice to incorporate if we could. We have a list with names we each like separately, but not really any that we both like! Here is our list:
His favorites are [name_f]Abigail[/name_f] (#12), [name_f]Caroline[/name_f] (#10), [name_f]Charlotte[/name_f] (#4), and [name_f]Laurel[/name_f]. I am having a hard time choosing “the one” but really like [name_f]Eleanor/name_f. As I am a [name_f]Jen[/name_f], I would like something that is not too common! The only one that we seem to like together is [name_f]Charlotte[/name_f], but I am really scared that it is too popular right now! (#4 in 2016 where we live) Our last name starts with a B and has 2 syllables.
Also, brothers names are [name_u]Evan[/name_u] and [name_m]Gunner[/name_m] (we are a blended family). Please help me come up with some name combos (first and middle) to present to my DH!!

I especially think that [name_f]Eleanor[/name_f] [name_f]Laurel[/name_f], [name_f]Abigail[/name_f] [name_f]Charlotte[/name_f], or [name_f]Charlotte[/name_f] [name_f]Ruth[/name_f] sound nice. [name_f]Charlotte[/name_f] sounds pretty as a first or middle with just about any of your other choices. [name_f]Hope[/name_f] this helped!
As a [name_f]Sarah[/name_f] I also worry about popularity, but based on percentage of birth the top 5 when we were born were almost twice as popular as the top 5 now. So if [name_f]Charlotte[/name_f] is the only one you can agree on, I say go for it. I love [name_f]Charlotte[/name_f] [name_f]Ruth[/name_f] from pp.
If you both like [name_f]Charlotte[/name_f], that would be a good middle name. Common middle names don’t seem to cause problems like common first names and it might help her connect with the other girls named [name_f]Charlotte[/name_f].
[name_f]Delia[/name_f] is a classic name with a similar feel to the Charlottes, Madelines, and Emmas that are popular right now, but somehow it has fallen out of the top 1000. I think it sounds nice with any of the -ine names, as well as [name_f]Charlotte[/name_f].
[name_f]Anne[/name_f] is pretty low, and [name_f]Ann[/name_f] is even lower
[name_u]Joan[/name_u] is another classic that isn’t even in the top 1000
[name_f]Lavinia[/name_f] was a fairly popular name before 1880 and died off around 1930, and it fits well with most middle names.
