Back up name for Lincoln

A fellow nameberry suggested I might have more interest if I post this in the boy baby names, so here goes:
We just found out that we’ll be having a dapper little gentleman in [name_u]March[/name_u]. We picked [name_m]Lincoln[/name_m] “[name_m]Link[/name_m]” [name_u]Everett[/name_u] for his name, but (because I’m a planner) I feel like we need a backup, just in case he isn’t our little [name_m]Link[/name_m].

We’ve recently been reevaluating [name_m]Atticus[/name_m], realizing it’s really not as popular as we had previously worried. We both love the name, and we are looking for a middle that works with [name_m]Atticus[/name_m]. Husband is a bit critical of a number of names on my list, arguing they’re not “real names.” So…let’s keep them real? I’ve come up with the following so far:
[name_m]Atticus[/name_m] [name_m]Clark[/name_m] (my maiden name)
[name_m]Atticus[/name_m] [name_m]Henry[/name_m] (have some close friend who used [name_m]Henry[/name_m] with her child though)
[name_m]Atticus[/name_m]…

Help!

If you both like [name_m]Lincoln[/name_m], I wouldn’t stress about a back up. Sounds like you have your choice. Babies never come out looking like their names! They’re always just tiny sweet squishy babies and they eventually grow into their names.

I had the same fear naming my son ([name_u]James[/name_u]) [name_m]Collier[/name_m]. ([name_m]Lincoln[/name_m] was also on our list!). I thought [name_m]Collier[/name_m] was a big name for a little guy and almost switched at the last minute. I’m so glad we kept it and didn’t opt for a baby-ish name. They’re adults much more of their lives than they’re children!

That said, I do like [name_m]Atticus[/name_m] [name_m]Clark[/name_m]. If you are worried about popularity, I live in the southeast and [name_m]Atticus[/name_m] is very popular here!

My only other thought is that if you have a two syllable last name [name_m]Lincoln[/name_m] [name_u]Everett[/name_u] might end up being too sing-songy, if that makes sense. If he will go by [name_m]Link[/name_m] all the time, that’s much less an issue. I also like [name_m]Lincoln[/name_m] [name_m]Clark[/name_m]
Best wishes!

I really think all of the names you’re considering are handsome, especially [name_m]Atticus[/name_m], as it is on my list too.

Suggestions:
[name_u]August[/name_u]
[name_m]Sebastian[/name_m]
[name_m]Silas[/name_m]
[name_u]James[/name_u]
[name_u]Owen[/name_u]
[name_u]Sawyer[/name_u]

I loooove the combo of [name_m]Atticus[/name_m] [name_m]Clark[/name_m]! I like ending the three syllables of [name_m]Atticus[/name_m] with something short and strong like

[name_m]Atticus[/name_m] [name_m]Paul[/name_m]
[name_m]Atticus[/name_m] [name_m]Luke[/name_m]
[name_m]Atticus[/name_m] [name_m]Fox[/name_m]
[name_m]Atticus[/name_m] [name_u]Dane[/name_u]
