I love the name [name_u]Asa[/name_u]! However I brought it up to SO and he has informed me that there’s apparently a very very well known female porn star named [name_u]Asa[/name_u]. Does anyone else know this association? Is it unusable for a boy? Would he be made fun of?
Well I don’t watch porn so I wouldn’t know that association. My guess is kids would have no clue about this star and by the time teenagers are starting to look at porn, there will be new stars…so its a question of how much does it bother your husband

I don’t think it makes the name unusable for a child nor do I think it will cause teasing. She is one association and will be forgotten about in a few years time.

[name_u]Asa[/name_u] is #490 on the US popularity charts, so it’s decently used as a name. I think if this [name_u]Asa[/name_u] was as well known as your husband says, that number would be much lower.
I’m not familiar with this association at all. Never heard of that person. My first thought was actually the king of the same name in the Bible.
This is exactly what my husband said when I told him I loved [name_u]Asa[/name_u]! He wouldn’t even consider it 
I had never heard of her, but she must be pretty well-known internationally if both of our husbands have, I guess. I’m not sure I want to know how they know!
I have not heard of this association before – but yes, I think it matters more what your husband thinks of it. My only encounters with the name have been through the actor [name_u]Asa[/name_u] Butterfield and a guy I know personally (who is also really nice and a talented actor) so I don’t get any negative vibes from the name at all! I think it’s quite handsome.

I had no clue about that association. My first thought was the biblical king, though I do know a woman who used it for her little girl. Personally, I think it is a great name and your [name_u]Asa[/name_u] [name_m]Gideon[/name_m] combo is handsome! However, if all your husband would think of would be the porn star, then maybe it may have to be shelved

It really depends if this association will be harmful or disturbing for your Husband.
I have never heard of the pornstar and neither has my DH. That being said I haven’t been looking at porn in about 5 years so idk what new names are out there. Coming from a very bad background I would find the porn association triggering that being said… the porn industry changes quite often I doubt she will be in the industry for so long that your son will grow up and see her or that she will become as famous as a regular actor. [name_u]Asa[/name_u] has also got some very creditable non-porn associations that are much stronger in the ‘normal’ lives of people.

Considering the fact that there are plenty of porn stars with well known names like [name_u]Madison[/name_u], [name_f]Gracie[/name_f], [name_f]Emma[/name_f], etc. and no one cares, I don’t think it’s a big deal.

To me the name just sounds like [name_m]ACE[/name_m].
