I just heard the combo [name_u]Elliott[/name_u] [name_u]Spencer[/name_u] - which I like, but I thought sounded a little familiar. Then I remembered about the whole [name_u]Eliot[/name_u] Spitzer scandal. [name_f]Do[/name_f] you think they are too close for comfort, or would you not have even noticed if I hadn’t said anything?

If you wouldn’t have said anything I don’t think I would have thought of [name_u]Eliot[/name_u] Spitzer. [name_u]Elliot[/name_u] and [name_u]Spencer[/name_u] aren’t my favorite names, but I think they flow nicely. 
[name_m]Christian[/name_m] [name_m]Kane[/name_m] played a character named [name_u]Eliot[/name_u] [name_u]Spencer[/name_u] on “Leverage,” but not everyone is going to make that association. I like the combo.
I don’t think the [name_u]Eliot[/name_u] Spitzer thing is a problem unless the similarity will keep nagging at you .
I would have not noticed if [name_u]Eliot[/name_u] Spitzer’s name wasn’t brought up. Besides, not many people would know your child’s middle name. [name_u]Eliot[/name_u] [name_u]Spencer[/name_u] is a nice combo.
I’d think of [name_u]Elliot[/name_u] Stabler before [name_u]Eliot[/name_u] Spitzer. [name_u]Elliot[/name_u] [name_u]Spencer[/name_u] is just fine!
Since you don’t live in [name_m]New[/name_m] [name_m]York[/name_m], I wouldn’t worry about it. I do think [name_u]Elliot[/name_u] Spitzer, but most people are not news nerds to the extent that I am. Plus, he won’t be in the spotlight forever. It’s a nice combo otherwise.
I didn’t think of [name_u]Elliott[/name_u] Spitzer at all. My immediate thought was [name_u]Eliot[/name_u] [name_u]Spencer[/name_u], [name_m]Christian[/name_m] [name_m]Kane[/name_m]'s character on Leverage. Most people probably wouldn’t make that association, and even if they did, he’s a positive character. It think [name_u]Elliott[/name_u] [name_u]Spencer[/name_u] is a lovely combo, and [name_u]Spencer[/name_u] balances out the name well (I’m having a hard time coming up with a middle for [name_u]Elliot[/name_u] for my list).
I thought of [name_m]Christian[/name_m] [name_m]Kane[/name_m]’s character too. But I think people would really have to know the show to get that connection.
The [name_u]Eliot[/name_u] Spitzer thing is only a problem if it bothers you. It’s really not all that close combos go.
I wouldn’t use it personally because it would make me think of [name_u]Eliot[/name_u] Spitzer BUT…. it’s not like any of his peers will get that reference.
