Barrett--too popular?

My husband really likes the name [name_u]Barrett[/name_u]. I think it’s ok, but I do love how [name_m]Bear[/name_m] can be a nickname (so cute).
I do worry about the trendiness/popularity of it though. I don’t want to have a little boy [name_u]Barrett[/name_u] with 10 other [name_u]Barrett[/name_u]'s in the same neighborhood.
What are your thoughts on the popularity, future trends or name in general?

[name_u]Barrett[/name_u] in it of itself is not a popular name; but it is part of the whole -ett trend that I have seen raise in popularity as of late (among them [name_u]Emmett[/name_u], [name_m]Bennett[/name_m], etc.) lately. I wouldn’t say little [name_u]Barrett[/name_u] will be one of ten, but he may be one of many sharing a suffix.

[name_u]Barrett[/name_u] is a very nice name and it’s not very popular. I’ve only met two Barretts—one would be in his early twenties now (my family knew him 10+ years ago) and the other one is probably around ten or twelve. This name is similar to [name_m]Garrett[/name_m], [name_u]Everett[/name_u], [name_m]Beckett[/name_m], [name_u]Emmett[/name_u], but none of those are at the top of the charts at the moment, either.

I don’t think [name_u]Barrett[/name_u] is popular at all. I have never met one. I like it but I agree it is a little trendy.

While it may be on-trend, it’s definitely not too popular.

this exactly

Ok thanks everyone— I don’t like the super trendy names, so I am apprehensive about [name_u]Barrett[/name_u]. But thank you!
