We have a Barrett. Surprisingly many people haven’t heard it. We usually have to spell it. I think it will remain less common than some other -ett names like Bennett and Beckett. I love the name and have no regrets in using it for our son. It just seems to strike a great balance between being familiar yet not popular and sounding masculine but not overly so. Works for a baby and an adult. We love and use the nn Bear but I think Rhett could work as well.
Stellan isn’t my cup of tea, but I have nothing against it. It does have a nice sound.
I think either name would work with your sibset. We had Silas on our shortlist for Barrett.
I much prefer [name_m]Stellan[/name_m] over [name_u]Barrett[/name_u]. If you like [name_u]Barrett[/name_u], would you consider [name_m]Garrett[/name_m]?
I like [name_u]Barrett[/name_u] a tad more than [name_m]Stellan[/name_m], though i like [name_m]Stellan[/name_m] as well. Both are easily pronounced & spelled, though not over-used like [name_m]Garrett[/name_m].
[name_u]Barrett[/name_u] is a lovely name. I know an English teacher with a son named [name_u]Barrett[/name_u] after [name_f]Elizabeth[/name_f] [name_u]Barrett[/name_u] Browning. I like both names but [name_u]Barrett[/name_u] goes better with your kids’ names than [name_m]Stellan[/name_m], with its more modern and relaxed vibe.
Thanks for the feedback. I think [name_u]Barrett[/name_u] is more my “feel” but [name_m]Stellan[/name_m] stands out for being different (and just looking great written out.)
