I love the idea of [name_u]Arlo[/name_u] as a middle for Bartholomew… but they admittedly don’t sound great back-to-back. Arlo’s a family name and I love how [name_m]Bartholomew[/name_m] [name_u]Arlo[/name_u] LOOKS, but it is pretty tongue-twistery. [name_m]Can[/name_m] you think of a second middle that would make [name_m]Bartholomew[/name_m] [name_u]Arlo[/name_u] work better? I’m up to [name_m]Bartholomew[/name_m] [name_u]Arlo[/name_u] _____ or [name_m]Bartholomew[/name_m] ____ [name_u]Arlo[/name_u], whichever works better. I tried [name_m]Bartholomew[/name_m] [name_u]Christian[/name_u] [name_u]Arlo[/name_u] a while back, but I just didn’t love it.
Since [name_m]Bartholomew[/name_m] [name_u]Arlo[/name_u] doesn’t quite work, added a name between them would be better so here’s some ideas for [name_m]Bartholomew[/name_m] _____ [name_u]Arlo[/name_u]:
I’ve gone for some names with short vowel sounds and different consonants, to break up the long vowels, Ls and Rs in [name_m]Bartholomew[/name_m] and [name_u]Arlo[/name_u]. I’ve also avoided S’s which I think helps flow because they add a tongue twister challenge coming after the ‘th’ in [name_m]Bartholomew[/name_m]. But I have to say, I am having a [name_m]Wystan[/name_m] moment and I think [name_m]Bartholomew[/name_m] [name_m]Wystan[/name_m] [name_u]Arlo[/name_u] is wonderful!! I also like [name_m]Bartholomew[/name_m] [name_m]Sebastian[/name_m] [name_u]Arlo[/name_u].
well just want to say you could always have [name_u]Arlo[/name_u] as a nickname for [name_m]Bartholomew[/name_m] (awesome name, btw!). I think the names share very similar sounds and the flow might be a little off, but not bad.
I love [name_u]Arlo[/name_u] as the nickname! But for a second middle , you need to break up the vowels with a single syllable name…I thought the suggestion of [name_m]Bartholomew[/name_m] [name_u]Jude[/name_u] [name_u]Arlo[/name_u] was nice. [name_u]Or[/name_u] maybe bartholomew james [name_u]Arlo[/name_u]?
I agree with the nickname because they sound way too similar. I dont even think it works with two middles, sorry to say. I understand the frustration in that. I often try to pair names that don’t work and its hard to see it when its your creative genius! But they have a lot of similar sounds. Would you choose one over the other?
