Curious what “basic” names you really like. When I say basic, I mean simple like [name_f]Jane[/name_f] or [name_f]Jill[/name_f] or [name_f]Sarah[/name_f]. I guess common names or names that are not trending in this era. Like no one is naming girls [name_f]Jennifer[/name_f] or [name_f]Heather[/name_f] or [name_f]Christina[/name_f] these days but maybe you like those still!
I’m not a fan of basic names for the most part, but the funny thing is, nowadays basic names are getting overlooked and can sort of be under-used. So I am curious.
I really like [name_f]Elenor[/name_f] and its definitely coming back in style so I don’t know if it counts.
I really like [name_u]Jean[/name_u], [name_u]June[/name_u], [name_f]Kyla[/name_f], [name_u]Brook[/name_u], [name_f]Rebecca[/name_f], [name_f]Amy[/name_f], [name_f]Eve[/name_f]/[name_f]Eva[/name_f], [name_f]Kate[/name_f], [name_f]Claire[/name_f], [name_f]Mary[/name_f], [name_f]Lucy[/name_f], [name_f]Gail[/name_f], [name_f]Dinah[/name_f], [name_f]May[/name_f], and [name_f]Rose[/name_f], even though they are either seen as dated or too popular. I still think they’re beautiful!
[name_f]EDIT[/name_f]: I also love [name_f]Marie[/name_f] and think she deserves better than being stuck in the middle every time, and Ruby and Ruth are longtime favorites of mine.
[name_f]Sophie[/name_f], [name_f]Lucy[/name_f], [name_f]Emily[/name_f], [name_m]William[/name_m], [name_m]Oliver[/name_m], and [name_f]Rose[/name_f] are ones that come to mind.
I really like [name_f]Jane[/name_f], [name_f]Nell[/name_f], and [name_f]Anne[/name_f]. [name_u]Jamie[/name_u] for a boy. I would say they’re pretty basic. I also really like [name_f]Margaret[/name_f], [name_f]Helen[/name_f] (my own name), [name_f]Peggy[/name_f], [name_m]George[/name_m], [name_f]Clarice[/name_f], [name_m]Daniel[/name_m], [name_u]Dean[/name_u], [name_f]Kate[/name_f], [name_f]Elain[/name_f], and [name_f]Diana[/name_f].
[name_f]Alice[/name_f]
[name_f]Anne[/name_f]/[name_f]Ana[/name_f] (not really a fan of [name_f]Anna[/name_f] though)
[name_f]Beth[/name_f] (short for [name_f]Bethany[/name_f], not [name_f]Elizabeth[/name_f])
[name_f]Christina[/name_f]/[name_f]Cristina[/name_f]
[name_f]Christine[/name_f]
[name_f]Ella[/name_f]
[name_m]Frank[/name_m] (preferably short for [name_m]Franklin[/name_m])
[name_f]Jen[/name_f] (short for [name_f]Jennifer[/name_f] or [name_f]Jenna[/name_f])
[name_m]Kenneth[/name_m] (nn [name_m]Ken[/name_m], not [name_m]Kenny[/name_m])
[name_f]May[/name_f]
[name_f]Nell[/name_f]
[name_u]Quinn[/name_u] (not old-fashioned, just a simple name)
[name_f]Sally[/name_f]
[name_u]Val[/name_u] (short for [name_f]Valerie[/name_f] or [name_f]Valeria[/name_f])
[name_m]John[/name_m]
[name_m]Lad[/name_m]- I would probably use it as nn for [name_m]Vladimir[/name_m] because that’s my husband’s name, but I think it can stand on its own especially with the [name_m]Ladd[/name_m] variant
[name_u]Kit[/name_u]
I adore [name_f]Lily[/name_f] & [name_u]June[/name_u], as well as [name_m]Theodore[/name_m], [name_m]Oliver[/name_m] (my pet’s name), [name_u]Max[/name_u], and [name_u]Finn[/name_u] for boys.
