What do you think of the name [name_m]Basil[/name_m] for a boy? In the US it would be pronounced [name_u]Bay[/name_u]-sil most likely.
I enjoy the name and was crushing on it recently. I prefer the [name_m]BAZ[/name_m]-il pronunciation.
I agree. I prefer the [name_m]Baz[/name_m]-il pronunciation too but I’m not sure that would be easy where I live.
I like it. I’m in the US & would pronounce it [name_m]Baz[/name_m]-il.
I prefer the [name_m]Baz[/name_m]-il pn but either way, it’s cute and charming
I actually prefer the [name_u]Bay[/name_u]-sil pronunciation, though I’d say baz-il in real life. It’s a handsome name! And [name_m]Buzz[/name_m]/[name_u]Bay[/name_u] are nice nicknames.
I like it a lot.
I think that it’s super cool, but also prefer [name_m]Baz[/name_m]-il. And the nn Bash is adorable.
I really like it and it goes so well with your boys’ names too.
I’m from the US so naturally I would pronounce is [name_u]Bay[/name_u]-zil, but since I’m a name nerd and I saw it as a name I would pronounce it [name_m]Baz[/name_m]-il. I’m guessing almost everyone you meet will pronounce it [name_u]Bay[/name_u]-zil.
I love it! It’s one of my personal favorites and I think it goes perfectly with your sons’ names.
I love the name, but I would instinctively pronounce it [name_m]BAZ[/name_m]-il. I am in the Eastern U.S.
I’m in [name_m]New[/name_m] Zealand and pronounce it [name_m]Baz[/name_m]-il
It’s a lovely now
I love [name_m]Basil[/name_m] so much and I think it fits well with your other kids’ names
I like it a lot. I’m Australian, so we’d pronounce it Bazzil (per UK pronunciation). I’m considering this for my next if it’s aboy.
I’m from New York, and I would automatically pronounce the first syllable “Bay.”
I love the name Basil so much! I like both pronunciations too, but prefer Bay-sil because the nn Bay is my favorite (though Baz and Bash are great too!!)
In America it would definitely be pronounced Bay-zil but as a name enthusiast I would pronounce is Baz-il. I prefer the Baz-il pronunciation though
There’s an elderly, British lawyer that calls the office I work in regularly, and his name is a [name_m]Basil[/name_m]. It suits him and his posh voice down to the ground haha.
On a practical note, I quite like [name_m]Basil[/name_m]. I’m not a fan of the “bay-sil” pronunciation, but I think that just comes down to location. It has quite a sophisticated air, and isn’t as trendy or hipster sounding as other plant names.
