[name_f]Genevieve[/name_f]. I think it’s going to be easier to enforce the nicknames you want ([name_f]Liz[/name_f] and [name_f]Lizzie[/name_f] are so ingrained) and I’m not sure if this bothers you but I’ve been hearing it more and more so I can see it becoming a top ten name again

[name_f]Genevieve[/name_f] for me. Both are such beautiful, classic names but [name_f]Genevieve[/name_f] and its nicknames just seem that bit more unexpected, plus it just oozes [name_m]French[/name_m] chic and sophistication.

Both are beautiful! I adore [name_f]Genevieve[/name_f] nn [name_f]Evie[/name_f], and [name_f]Elizabeth[/name_f] nn [name_f]Ella[/name_f]. I think my personal preference would be [name_f]Genevieve[/name_f], though–I love so many variants of [name_f]Elizabeth[/name_f] ([name_f]Isabelle[/name_f], [name_f]Isabella[/name_f], [name_f]Lillian[/name_f], [name_f]Eliza[/name_f], [name_f]Elisabet[/name_f], [name_f]Eliska[/name_f], etc.!), but I’ve never quite connected with [name_f]Elizabeth[/name_f] as I have its variants. I think [name_f]Elizabeth[/name_f] nn [name_f]Ella[/name_f] is gorgeous, though, especially with a really great and interesting middle name!

My vote goes to [name_f]Elizabeth[/name_f], no surprise. :slight_smile: [name_f]Genevieve[/name_f] is a nice name, just not my style – too “frilly” for me. I love the nickname [name_f]Evie[/name_f], though! (We considered [name_u]Evelyn[/name_u] nn [name_f]Evie[/name_f]).

I don’t think you’d have trouble making your chosen nickname stick for either name – when we tell people that our daughter is called [name_f]Libby[/name_f] (or when she tells them her name is [name_f]Libby[/name_f]), that’s that. No one has called her [name_f]Lizzie[/name_f] or [name_f]Liz[/name_f] or anything else but [name_f]Libby[/name_f] or [name_f]Elizabeth[/name_f].

My pick is [name_f]Elizabeth[/name_f]! I know a couple who go by [name_f]Ellie[/name_f] and are never called [name_f]Liz[/name_f]/[name_f]Lizzie[/name_f], so I don’t think nicknames will be an issue.
