Battle of the H's

Hubby and I are trying to decide between [name_f]Harlow[/name_f] and [name_u]Harper[/name_u]. Middle name will be [name_f]Elyse[/name_f]. Any help on name perception, growing in to adulthood, etc. is greatly appreciated.

[name_f]Harlow[/name_f] is definitely less popular, and maybe slightly less cutesy, but I see why it’s hard to decide – they are both great! If I had to choose, though, I would probably go with [name_f]Harlow[/name_f].

I like the flow and sound of [name_u]Harper[/name_u] [name_f]Elise[/name_f] best.

Another vote for [name_f]Harlow[/name_f]! [name_u]Harper[/name_u] is getting so popular, and [name_f]Harlow[/name_f] just better suits a teen/adult imo. [name_f]Harlow[/name_f] [name_f]Elyse[/name_f] is very pretty.

Honestly, [name_f]Harlow[/name_f] seems very masculine to me, so I vote [name_u]Harper[/name_u]. If you’re looking for suggestions, there’s always…

[name_f]Holly[/name_f]
[name_f]Hattie[/name_f]/[name_f]Harriet[/name_f]
[name_u]Haven[/name_u]
[name_u]Harley[/name_u]
[name_u]Halle[/name_u]/[name_f]Hailey[/name_f]
[name_f]Hannah[/name_f]

I vote [name_f]Harlow[/name_f]. [name_u]Harper[/name_u] rose so quickly, and I think it’s going to sound very dated in twenty years.

[name_f]Harlow[/name_f] is all town name to me (it’s the name of a town in [name_m]Essex[/name_m], [name_f]England[/name_f]) so I go with [name_u]Harper[/name_u], and [name_u]Harper[/name_u] [name_f]Elyse[/name_f] flows better.

I’d go with [name_u]Harper[/name_u]. [name_f]Harlow[/name_f] sounds like harlot pronounced in [name_m]French[/name_m].

[name_f]Harlow[/name_f]!! [name_f]Harlow[/name_f] [name_f]Elyse[/name_f] is really nice.

[name_f]Harlow[/name_f] I think it flows better than [name_u]Harper[/name_u]. [name_f]Harlow[/name_f] [name_f]Elyse[/name_f] is so beautiful!

[name_f]Harlow[/name_f]! It’s beautiful, and has a sweet vintage appeal. [name_u]Harper[/name_u] is climbing fast and trending, and will be dated before we know it.

I’ve never been a fan of [name_f]Harlow[/name_f]. For some reason it sounds harsh to me. [name_u]Harper[/name_u] always makes me think of To Kill a Mockingbird and so I love it. [name_u]Harper[/name_u] [name_f]Elyse[/name_f] is a great name.

Of those two, [name_u]Harper[/name_u]. I would suggest:

[name_u]Hadley[/name_u]
[name_f]Hannah[/name_f]
[name_f]Henrietta[/name_f]
[name_f]Harriet[/name_f]
[name_f]Holly[/name_f]

I prefer [name_u]Harper[/name_u], personally! I like the association to [name_u]Harper[/name_u] [name_u]Lee[/name_u]. I mean, [name_f]Harlow[/name_f] is nice, but I keep thinking of this children’s radio drama I used to listen to, who had a caricature of a police officer named [name_f]Harlow[/name_f], and so I find it harder to see the appeal on a girl (or on a person in general, haha. He was so stupid I didn’t even see him funny when I was little…). I’m not a huge fan of the [name_f]Elyse[/name_f] spelling, but I think [name_u]Harper[/name_u] [name_f]Elise[/name_f] would be lovely! I think they both age equally well. I like the suggestion of [name_u]Haven[/name_u] [name_f]Elise[/name_f] a lot, too!

Good luck!
