Bay?

What do you all think of the name [name]Bay[/name]?

I already have my top 5 names picked out. But I heard the name [name]Bay[/name] on the show Switched at Birth. It sounds beautiful to me!

What do you guys think?

I love it, one of my favs. Very evocative and natural. A lengthy middle name could also balance it.
Good luck.

Honestly, I’m on the fence about [name]Bay[/name]. It makes me think of bay leaves, which I think is really lovely. But, for whatever reason, the water association is a negative one for me. I’m a land girl, I guess.

I heard the name [name_u]Bay[/name_u] on that show when I was about 6 months along with my daughter. We knew we wanted a B name and I was not falling in love with anything I was finding. I heard [name_u]Bay[/name_u] and the more I said it, the more I heard it, the more I fell in love with it. We now have a [name_u]Bay[/name_u] [name_f]Vivienne[/name_f]

I think [name_u]Bay[/name_u] is beautiful and sweet.

I think it’s beautiful.

I’m not too fond of word names, but I don’t see any bad associations so if you really love it go for it.
If anything you can just keep it as a nickname or a quirky middle.

I’m a fan of word names so I’m always a little biased but I love [name_u]Bay[/name_u]. I think of a girl like the girl in that movie Brave with the long red hair. Sorry, don’t know the character’s name. I think the nameberry daughter named [name_u]Bay[/name_u] [name_f]Vivienne[/name_f] is stunning. If it’s used in the first slot I think it needs a long, femme middle.

I think [name_u]Bay[/name_u] is beautiful.

I love [name_u]Bay[/name_u]! I’m a little concerned about it becoming trendy because of that show… but I still think it’s beautiful

I think it’s pretty, but it definitely needs to to be paired with the right middle name to convince me. I agree with the pps that said [name_u]Bay[/name_u] should have a long and feminine middle name.

I think [name_u]Bay[/name_u] is a great choice. It seems very likeable, like the similar name [name_u]Bailey[/name_u]/[name_f]Bayleigh[/name_f]/[name_u]Baylee[/name_u]/etc. It has associations with nature, both with the body of water, bay, and bay leaves. I think this would only work for a multi-syllable last name, though. It would sound short and choppy to be called “[name_u]Bay[/name_u] [name_m]Smith[/name_m] or [name_u]Bay[/name_u] [name_m]Burns[/name_m]”.

Some First/middle name combo I think flow well:
[name_u]Bay[/name_u] [name_f]Veronica[/name_f]
[name_u]Bay[/name_u] [name_f]Anastasia[/name_f]
(Repeats the long A sound)
[name_u]Bay[/name_u] [name_u]Bellamy[/name_u]
[name_u]Bay[/name_u] [name_f]Annabelle[/name_f]
