Your style is absolutely not garbage- and in my opinion there is no style that is garbage! Like anyone’s list, some of them i love, and some aren’t my style but I love for other people.

Names from your list that I absolutely adore are [name_u]Athens[/name_u], [name_f]Cinder[/name_f], [name_u]Cricket[/name_u], [name_u]Cypress[/name_u], [name_u]December[/name_u], [name_u]Denali[/name_u], [name_u]Horizon[/name_u], [name_u]Lark[/name_u], [name_f]Lively[/name_f], [name_u]North[/name_u], [name_u]Revel[/name_u], [name_u]September[/name_u], [name_u]Solace[/name_u], [name_u]Tempest[/name_u], [name_f]Tuesday[/name_f], [name_u]Vale[/name_u], [name_u]Venice[/name_u], [name_u]Vesper[/name_u], [name_u]Windsor[/name_u], and [name_f]Winslet[/name_f] for girls, and [name_m]Anchor[/name_m], [name_u]Athens[/name_u], [name_u]Auburn[/name_u], [name_m]Booker[/name_m], [name_m]Conway[/name_m], [name_u]Credence[/name_u], [name_m]Crockett[/name_m], [name_m]Cy[/name_m], [name_u]Cypress[/name_u], [name_u]Denali[/name_u], [name_m]Fielder[/name_m], [name_m]Fitz[/name_m], [name_m]Friday[/name_m], [name_u]Hale[/name_u], [name_m]Hart[/name_m], [name_f]Joplin[/name_f], [name_u]Larkin[/name_u], [name_u]North[/name_u], [name_u]Penn[/name_u], [name_u]Ramsey[/name_u], [name_u]Silver[/name_u], [name_m]Thorne[/name_m], [name_u]Valor[/name_u], [name_m]Vander[/name_m], [name_u]Vesper[/name_u], [name_u]Windsor[/name_u], and [name_m]Woods[/name_m] for boys. And I really really like a whole bunch more! Objectively, unique word names and surnames are very very in right now.

Your names are absolutely not garbage. Most of them are not ones I would choose, but that doesn’t mean that they aren’t valid choices. I love how much care you pour into your lists. I love the aesthetic and the truly unique names that are born from it. No one but you needs to like your names. If they bring you joy, they’re perfect.

There have been so many times when I’ve seen your lists and been absolutely thrilled to see that that one word I thought would make an awesome name is on there. Venture for a girl? That’s so freaking cool. The creativity displayed in your lists is amazing and I hope that you know how truly wonderful they are. Your names are some of my favorite on Nameberry.

While your style isn’t really to my taste, I absolutely LOVE pursing through your lists. It seriously brings me so much joy. You have so many quirky gems tucked away in your lists.

Some of these I really dislike so they are “garbage” from my perspective but not universally. [name_f]Gidget[/name_f]? [name_u]Glacier[/name_u]? [name_m]Suede[/name_m]? I don’t see these as very reasonable people names.

There are several fantastic names on your list! If your name style is garbage, so is mine. I’ve named more than 50 babies online.

Your style is your own. I don’t believe you choose your style; it’s part of who you are, and you shouldn’t change because of the opinions of others.

If you do one day name children, you (most likely!) won’t have as many children as you have names on your list. You’d use only a select few of those names. I think the impact of your name list - which is unique, creative and clearly you - is in its length. If you had, say, 4 children named [name_f]Caprice[/name_f], [name_u]Revel[/name_u], [name_u]Granger[/name_u] and [name_m]Thorne[/name_m], you may get some comments from people (positive, neutral or negative) because you’ve chosen names outside the mainstream. There’s nothing wrong with that - more people should do it, in my opinion!

You have to own your style, and be confident in it. You have so many great names on your list!

Hey! Your style is not garbage. I mean, I personally would not use these names, but for the simple sake of that you put care and thought into them and that they fit your emotions and favourite style it is a lot already. A lot of people do not really care about these and use the first names they think of (non namenerds).

I personally am of the idea that

A name is art (and you fit this: you spend your time making your name an art, and just because your art style is not classic or bucolic, or romanticist, it does not mean it is bad. Modern and expressionist art currents exist.)
A name is expression (yours definitely is)
A name is emotions (You express yours)
A name is rhythm (your names fit these as well)
A name is a game (a name is like a puzzle to solve, an intellectual delight; yours definitely is by how much care you put in it!)

So even if your name style itself are not the most favourites of everyone, consider going above those simple things and instead looking at names as themselves in their actual, deep, original way of expression, art and puzzle. Also because names were invented for distinguish one from another, and yours definitely do! You fit and check all the boxes of the Naming Manifesto I listed above that I invented for myself.

I do not really like the names themselves for me,
but I love the care, the meaning, the artistic thought.

What is art?
“the expression or application of human emotions and thoughts and the sending of a message by creative skill and imagination”
You definitely sent us a message that expresses your aesthetics and emotions using creative skill.
And whether the art itself is realistic or of taste is not that important.
Art does not always have to look good, it also have to convey a meaning. Yours does.
(That is why I put a lot of meaning in my names too.)

By the way…
Oh, Fitz is a wonderful name! Scotia and Alpine are also great for you. Not my style because my expression is more “long grand names with historical” but it does not mean it is wrong. How boring would be the world if we all had the same style, the same thoughts, the same expressions.

I wanted also to suggest Toscane and Tosca, Verona, Marsilia, Geneva, Vienna, Castille, Aquitaine. You seem to like Geographic names :))

There are so many names on your list that I like, some that I love, some that I admire, and some that I think I’d like as a name of my own. Your style and names aren’t garbage at all - sure, some of the names aren’t for me, some of them I wouldn’t find usable, but that’s okay!

(Plus, it’s more than alright to have names on your list that you might not 100% choose to name a real life kid - it’s totally okay to just collect and enjoy without committing to naming a person every single one of them! Not sure if that helps at all!)

I’m sure I’ve said it before, but I always love seeing your list

And that is me! I do not plan to have children but I love names.
I think your style is fine! [name_f]My[/name_f] style is particular too so I know how it feels

Not my style but definitely not garbage! I like [name_u]Vesper[/name_u], [name_f]Winslet[/name_f], [name_u]Channing[/name_u], [name_m]Dacre[/name_m], [name_u]Hale[/name_u], [name_m]Hart[/name_m], [name_u]Rydell[/name_u] & [name_u]Sheridan[/name_u]

A few of them are I’d say a bit much and bordering on campy, so I get where you’re coming from, but others are very cool! Overall I really like the whole vibe of your list, much more so than most of the “safer”, typical berry type lists I see, and definitely wouldn’t consider it garbage. A lot of the names are similar to my own style but braver than I’d be willing to go, so it’s really fun to see someone go all out!

Your names aren’t garbage!

Honestly, many of the names on your list do seem “too weird” to use for real children. But it’s totally okay to collect those names just for fun. Names in this category are for example [name_m]Chord[/name_m], Corduroy, [name_u]Cricket[/name_u] and [name_u]Dynasty[/name_u]. I’ll admit that where I am from word names and surnames as given names are rarely used so that influences how I see your list.

However, some of your names seem like perfectly fine names even to me. These include names like [name_u]Clancy[/name_u], [name_u]Lark[/name_u] and [name_u]Vesper[/name_u].

Definitely not garbage! I really like your name style, unique and fresh! You put a lot of thought into your names and I really appreciate that. I don’t think there is a “superior” name style out there, just personal preferences.

They are definitely not garbage! Like others have said, everyone has different styles and preferences which is what makes names so fun. Otherwise we’d all just have the same five names we used over and over and over! A lot of your list isn’t my personal style, but if I read it in a book or met someone with that name I would be intrigued. I know a lot of people come here for baby name advice, which I always feel more strongly about because it’s a whole human you’re naming, but other people come here for advice for characters in books. I feel like the book character names can be a lot more fun and interesting!

[name_f]My[/name_f] favorites from your list…

your names are definitely not garbage!! the great thing about nameberry is that we all have our own unique styles. maybe yours aren’t quite my style, but i do love reading through your lists, they’re so fun, quirky in the best way, and so you!!

also in this society, it doesn’t matter what you name your kid, there’s always going to be someone who doesn’t like it. don’t worry about your style being like everyone else’s, because you can’t please everyone!!

I like your style. It’s unique, with tons of gorgeous options. No one should feel ashamed of who they are and what they like. I would hope that no one on here would try to make anyone feel that way. We all have our opinions, but calling someone else’s preferences garbage is just going too far. I sincerely hope no one is making you feel this way, both online and in real life.

It’s not garbage.

Not all of the names are to my taste, but their are also some names I do like. I’ve labeled what I’d personally use them for. (firts aren’t labeled), and ive put emojis next to my faves.

[name_f]Cascade[/name_f], [name_f]Cozy[/name_f] and [name_u]Lazuli[/name_u] are my fave girls.
[name_u]Slate[/name_u] may be a newly discovered fave boy.

I think it depends a bit on loving names for names - in which case anything goes - vs loving names for real children.

For real children other pressures weigh in, for me: needing to make sure it’s a name THEY like, that doesn’t invite bullying, that they don’t have to spell a million times for people, that isn’t going to get their CV passed over. So for real children I find I like to go for established names that are hopefully not currently or recently super trendy, or things that push the boundaries but only gently.

So yeh, for an actual child most of your lists are not my style. The last names like [name_u]Swayze[/name_u], [name_f]Winslet[/name_f] etc… what if they’re really not fond of the actors who inspired them? [name_u]Or[/name_u] the films they’re in? And then ones like Corduroy just make me think of pants, Caliber… well is she of high caliber, or low?

I do love nature names though and they seem to be popular now, and a bit more wearable: [name_u]Lark[/name_u], [name_u]Cypress[/name_u], [name_u]Tempest[/name_u], [name_u]Vale[/name_u], [name_f]Valley[/name_f] all feel really wearable to me.

Sorry I know I’m late to this…

It’s definitely not my personal style and I wouldn’t exactly use them, but…

Never think that your names are garbage! First of all, that’s not true and never has been!

Your unique to you and what you love, and that’s wonderful! If that’s your style, then go with it! None of us should ever be judging you for what you love, and if these are what you love, then that’s amazing!
