Q: Is sibset [name_f]Beatrice[/name_f] and [name_f]Felicity[/name_f] too heavy-handed because they both mean happiness?
We can’t agree on another good “vintage” (see: old lady name) for DD#2 so we’re looking at other options…

I think they’re a beautiful sibset together. I didn’t even think of the similar meanings until you mentioned it… But I wouldn’t call it a deal breaker, if anything that makes them more of a perfect set.
Your DD’s may even love that they have a secret connection about their names done the road.
No, I think it’s fine! I completely forgot what [name_f]Beatrice[/name_f]'s meaning was until you drew the comparison and I definitely would’ve have picked up on it myself. I think these go beautifully together!!
The only drawback I can think of- and I hesitate to bring this up because I don’t want it to get stuck in your mind if it isn’t there already- is whether or not this connection would become an issue if you were to have a third daughter. I know you can’t live life with “what-ifs” and this may not be an issue for you ever, so take that with a huge grain of salt.
[name_f]Beatrice[/name_f] is derived from Late Latin Viatrix Voyager:
It probably doesn’t mean “bringer of happiness”
But I love [name_f]Beatrice[/name_f] & [name_f]Felicity[/name_f]!
I love them together!
[name_f]Lovely[/name_f] combination!
[name_f]Beatrice[/name_f] and [name_f]Felicity[/name_f] make a great sibset! I’ll put in a plug for [name_f]Lucinda[/name_f] as another great sister name with [name_f]Felicity[/name_f].
I think they work well together. Most people won’t know the name meanings.
I love them! And I love the very subtle connection
I don’t think most people will know that. I love [name_f]Beatrice[/name_f] & [name_f]Felicity[/name_f] together!
I think they work great together!
I dont think many people will even think of the similar meanings. It is also a lovely subtle connection they will have as well.
I wouldn’t bother with the meanings, it’s not like you’re choosing [name_f]Snow[/name_f] and [name_u]Winter[/name_u] as sib sets.
Goes together perfectly and I kind of like that the meaning is similar. Not heavy handed very subtle.
They sound wonderful together, and I wouldn’t have even considered the meanings to be completely honest!
Thank you all for your encouragement!
Great point about [name_u]Baby[/name_u]#3, but I think we’ll be done with 2, so we should be good.
I think I worry that [name_f]Felicity[/name_f] isn’t “old lady/vintage” enough to pair with [name_f]Beatrice[/name_f]…??
That is a great set
I definitely think they work together. [name_f]Felicity[/name_f] sounds vintage to me. I first heard it on the American Girl [name_m]Doll[/name_m] who was a colonial girl. Those virtue names have an old puritan feel to me. [name_f]Felicity[/name_f] is maybe less clunky than [name_f]Beatrice[/name_f] but I think they complement each other and aren’t too matchy.
[name_f]Beatrice[/name_f] and [name_f]Felicity[/name_f] are perfection as sisters.
I think they compliment each other really nicely so I wouldn’t worry! Most people you will come across won’t even know the meanings so it’s ok
[name_f]Beatrice[/name_f] and [name_f]Felicity[/name_f] work brilliantly together. I agree with PPs who say most people won’t know the meanings, you could think of it as just a lovely little personal connection between sisters.
