Definitely [name_f]Beatrix[/name_f]. I find [name_f]Beatrice[/name_f] to be clunky and frumpy, but oddly [name_f]Beatrix[/name_f] gives me an entirely different feel. It’s spunky and fresh. I actually think [name_f]Beatrice[/name_f] has a greater problem with running into your surname but neither is bad.
While I like them both, my love has shifted from [name_f]Beatrice[/name_f] to [name_f]Beatrix[/name_f] and back to [name_f]Beatrice[/name_f] over time. It feels a bit more classic, and possibly reserved; I also like the softer sound. [name_f]Beatrice[/name_f] is on my own very short list.
I think [name_f]Beatrice[/name_f] sounds better with your last name.
Although I like both, [name_f]Beatrix[/name_f] is by far my favourite. For one she has more associations that I love ([name_f]Beatrix[/name_f] [name_m]Potter[/name_m] plus a favourite character), and she has some much personality! [name_f]Beatrix[/name_f] is strong, feisty, and passionate, with a good dash of style. I also have a big love for [name_f]Trixie[/name_f] (due to the character) so [name_f]Beatrix[/name_f] wins out there. [name_f]Beatrix[/name_f] [name_f]Snow[/name_f] sounds like an awesome character from a novel, and is wonderfully whimsical, definitely outweighs the back to back S sounds, which I think just adds to it.
For me it depends on the full name. With your chosen middle, I like [name_f]Beatrix[/name_f] best.
We’re not sure about the middle yet!
[name_f]Beatrice[/name_f] to me is sunny, classic and softly feminine. I also love [name_f]Beatrice[/name_f] from Much [name_f]Ado[/name_f]—that association gives the name more spunk to me. Its old ladyish quality makes it perfect for a baby now imo.
It’s funny how we randomly switched to [name_f]Beatrix[/name_f] and it shot to the top of the list. One day I said, “omg imagine a little girl trying to say [name_f]Beatrix[/name_f].” Weirdly we couldn’t get over the cuteness of that and it stuck! I think it was on here that someone said a little kid pronounced it beetix. Too sweet.
[name_f]Beatrix[/name_f] of course reminds me of [name_f]Beatrix[/name_f] [name_m]Potter[/name_m]. It’s funny that [name_m]Peter[/name_m] Rabbit is my icon—THE name was staring me in the face all along. It’s quirky and strong but has a delicate English garden quality that I like. I’m hoping she’ll love her name and it won’t be too weird to American ears!
Yes, yes, yes to everything about [name_f]Beatrice[/name_f] from Much [name_f]Ado[/name_f]! She’s smart and witty and keeps [name_f]Beatrice[/name_f] from sounding too soft to me.
(Sorry, I just got super excited about the reference!)
My grandmother’s name was [name_f]Beatrice[/name_f] and I gave it to my daughter as a middle name, so I’m biased. I don’t dislike [name_f]Beatrix[/name_f] at all but I loathe the nickname [name_f]Trixie[/name_f], which is why I’d personally avoid [name_f]Beatrix[/name_f].
I prefer [name_f]Beatrice[/name_f] but I think [name_f]Beatrix[/name_f] does work better with your last name and I agree with the poster above, not the biggest fan of [name_f]Trixie[/name_f] as a NN. However, I will say that my daughter’s name is [name_f]Penelope[/name_f] (named pre-Kardashian) and everyone said people would call her [name_u]Penny[/name_u] but not a single person has. Proof to me that sometimes even the most obvious and seemingly unavoidable nicknames don’t take. [name_f]Hope[/name_f] this helps.
The [name_f]Trixie[/name_f] thing doesn’t worry me at all! Mostly because I’ll be calling her [name_f]Bea[/name_f] 90% of the name and I would expect others to call her that too. I’ll call her [name_f]Trix[/name_f] on occasion. I like having a lot of nickname options to use so it’s perfect in that way.
[name_f]Beatrix[/name_f] [name_f]Snow[/name_f] is the most stunning name! I love that [name_f]Beatrix[/name_f] is beautiful, sweet, and also spunky. [name_f]Beatrice[/name_f] is also pretty, but I slightly prefer [name_f]Beatrix[/name_f]. I really like the image the name gives me, and I’d love to meet a little girl with the name!
I also think most people would shorten it to [name_f]Bea[/name_f], which I like a lot more than [name_f]Trixie[/name_f] (though [name_f]Trixie[/name_f]/[name_f]Trix[/name_f] is cute too!!)
I love both, but voted for [name_f]Beatrix[/name_f] because of the association to [name_f]Beatrix[/name_f] [name_m]Potter[/name_m] who is one of my favorite humans ever. I don’t think [name_f]Beatrix[/name_f] [name_f]Snow[/name_f] runs together too much, [name_f]Beatrice[/name_f] [name_f]Snow[/name_f] does though.
[name_f]Beatrix[/name_f] is amazing and with the last name [name_f]Snow[/name_f], I think its just a stunning combo.
[name_u]Love[/name_u] love love [name_f]Beatrix[/name_f]! It’s so much funkier and feistier than [name_f]Beatrice[/name_f] to me, and I agree that it sounds awesome with your lovely surname.
