Beatrice vs Beatrix

[name_m]Hi[/name_m]! What name do you like more as a first - [name_f]Beatrice[/name_f] or [name_f]Beatrix[/name_f] and why?

Favourite nicknames?

TIA

I like the classic feel of [name_f]Beatrice[/name_f] [name_f]Bea[/name_f] is my favourite nickname.

I honestly love both, I used to have [name_f]Beatrix[/name_f] on my list because it’s a bit more spunky and lends itself to the [name_f]Trixie[/name_f] nickname. I changed it for [name_f]Beatrice[/name_f] because it’s more classic vintage sounding. It depends on what kind of vibe you’re looking for & also what middles you’re pairing it with. For both, I adore the nickname [name_f]Bea[/name_f] (pronounced like bee :honeybee:).

I think both are very pretty! [name_f]Beatrice[/name_f] feels more classic and elegant to me, partly due to its royal background. It also feels mature, and slightly more refined than [name_f]Beatrix[/name_f]. [name_f]Beatrix[/name_f] on the other hand, feels a bit more wild, bright, and spunky. It feels quite whimsical, and storybook-ish, (maybe that’s due to [name_f]Beatrix[/name_f] [name_m]Potter[/name_m]?)
I love [name_f]Bea[/name_f] (:honeybee:) for both names, but [name_f]Trixie[/name_f] ([name_f]Beatrix[/name_f]) is also very sweet and fun.

I have both on my list so I’m very split! I like [name_f]Beatrice[/name_f]’s timeless quality, royal history and elegance. I also like [name_f]Beatrix[/name_f]’s playfulness, literary associations and bubbly bounciness. I think perhaps I prefer [name_f]Beatrix[/name_f] as a first and [name_f]Beatrice[/name_f] as a middle… but I adore both. [name_f]My[/name_f] favourite nicknames for [name_f]Beatrice[/name_f] are [name_f]Bee[/name_f], Bissy and [name_u]Bliss[/name_u]. For [name_f]Beatrix[/name_f], I like [name_f]Bee[/name_f] as well but not a fan of [name_f]Trixie[/name_f]. [name_f]Pixie[/name_f] could work though and I prefer it to [name_f]Trixie[/name_f]. :yellow_heart:

Beatrix because I don’t like the ā€œtrissā€ sound in [name_f]Beatrice[/name_f]. I also like the spunk of [name_f]Beatrix[/name_f] and it feels more fun and less uptight than [name_f]Beatrice[/name_f]. I like both [name_f]Bee[/name_f] ([name_f]Bea[/name_f]) or [name_f]Trixie[/name_f] as nicknames for [name_f]Beatrix[/name_f].

I love both, but today I’m leaning toward [name_f]Beatrix[/name_f]! I feel like it’s more upbeat and I think it’s more wearable on all ages. As for nicknames, I like [name_f]Bea[/name_f]!

I have a really hard time deciding which one I prefer too. I think I’m going to go with [name_f]Beatrix[/name_f], though, just because I like the spunkiness of the -x ending.

I like [name_f]Beatrice[/name_f] the best. [name_f]My[/name_f] favourites nns are [name_m]Bix[/name_m] [name_f]Bee[/name_f] and [name_f]Trixie[/name_f].

I prefer [name_f]Beatrice[/name_f]. Nicknames… [name_f]Bea[/name_f] and [name_u]Tris[/name_u]
Maybe [name_u]Harry[/name_u] [name_m]Potter[/name_m] ruined [name_f]Beatrix[/name_f] for me. I also think of [name_f]Trix[/name_f] cereal giving it a kids cartoony vibe for me.

Normally I would say [name_f]Beatrix[/name_f], but [name_f]Beatrice[/name_f] has been growing on me lately.
[name_f]My[/name_f] favorite nn is definitely [name_f]Bee[/name_f].

I prefer [name_f]Beatrix[/name_f]! I just think the trix sound is much cooler.

I prefer [name_f]Beatrice[/name_f], and [name_f]Bea[/name_f] is my favorite nn for both

Beatrix ā€˜[name_f]Bea[/name_f]’ - I think it looks and sounds cooler.

I prefer [name_f]Beatrice[/name_f]. The X ending of [name_f]Beatrix[/name_f] can get a bit choppy. I like [name_f]Bee[/name_f] or [name_f]Bea[/name_f] as a nn

Beatrix for sure. I like [name_f]Bea[/name_f] or [name_m]Bix[/name_m] as a nickname.

I actually like both. I think I would honestly choses based on the middle name.

Beatrix

I’ve always preferred [name_f]Beatrix[/name_f]. [name_f]Beatrice[/name_f] sounds too dated to me.
