Beauregard? Too much??

What are your thoughts on [name_m]Beauregard[/name_m]? Hubs loves it but I’m not sold… Is it just to much? I love just [name_m]Beau[/name_m]! But middle names are hard with one syllable first.

Stick with [name_m]Beau[/name_m]. I don’t think [name_m]Beauregard[/name_m] has been wearable since before WWI. It isn’t hard to find a middle name; you just have to stick to names that are 3+ syllables. It all depends on how long your last name is.

I agree with this.

I have found [name_m]Beau[/name_m] to be a bit tougher to find a middle name for, [name_u]Gray[/name_u] also, but usually do not have issues with one-syllable names. I would just try to stay clear of one-syllable middle names.

I really like [name_m]Beauregard[/name_m] nn [name_m]Beau[/name_m] as I feel it’s a little more substantial than just [name_m]Beau[/name_m]. I also think [name_m]Beauregard[/name_m] sounds intelligent and sophisticated where to me [name_m]Beau[/name_m] sounds more young and childish/childlike as a full name.

I knew a [name_m]Beauregard[/name_m] growing up (I am not that old). His nickname was [name_m]Beau[/name_m] and he wore both really well. I love [name_m]Beauregard[/name_m].

I do think it is too much. [name_m]Beau[/name_m] is nice though.

I think it’ll be too heavy/a bit too much on a child of today, it feels very pre-war and just unwearable. On the other hand, I [name_u]LOVE[/name_u] [name_m]Beau[/name_m] and find it easy to pair MNs with ([name_m]Alexander[/name_m], [name_u]Michael[/name_u], [name_m]Daniel[/name_m], [name_u]James[/name_u], [name_m]Zachary[/name_m] - aim for 3+).

I’d stick with just [name_m]Beau[/name_m], too. [name_m]Beauregard[/name_m] feels a bit try-hard to me. It’s [name_m]French[/name_m] but then not really and it just seems more like a sentence to me than a name, anyway.

I prefer [name_m]Beau[/name_m].

I prefer [name_m]Beau[/name_m] also. I do like [name_m]Boden[/name_m] but I think people would then want to spell it [name_u]Bo[/name_u]…

I like [name_m]Beauregard[/name_m]. It’s a big name but only 3 syllables, shorter than the oh-so-popular [name_m]Alexander[/name_m], and the same as many other popular names right now. It’s a mouthful but I believe it’s very usable. It’s especially appealing because of the nick name [name_m]Beau[/name_m] - To me that is not a substantial name, but as a light nickname for a heavy full name, I think it works! And it’s a name most people have heard of, just don’t hear used that often. I say go for it.

Thank you for the replies! I think it’s growing on me! Its a big name but so is the oh-so-trendy [name_m]Theodore[/name_m]…
