I started thinking about baby names many long years before I would start TTC. My girls list has always been in flux, but my boys list stayed largely the same but now that reality is around the corner, I have to give that list some thought.
My favorite was [name_u]Noah[/name_u] for many years. I think it is such a beautiful name for a boy. So soft, and the story of [name_u]Noah[/name_u]'s ark was one of my favorites from [name_f]Sunday[/name_f] school, as a child. To me, the name conjures up images of bright, glittering stars against a velvet midnight sky. It’s still my favorite, really, but it became so popular that I changed my top name to [name_u]Kai[/name_u]. Multicultural, with a soft sound and that bright, long I ending. It conjures up images of tropical flowers and bright blue skies and crystal clear oceans. But then it also became incredibly popular. The next name on my list was [name_m]Felix[/name_m]. It’s different than [name_u]Noah[/name_u] or [name_u]Kai[/name_u], but I like the bright, happy, golden sound and its joyful meaning. But though I like it, I don’t love it as much as [name_u]Noah[/name_u] or [name_u]Kai[/name_u].
What are some other beautiful boys name? About a year ago I discovered the name [name_u]Oberon[/name_u], which sounds lush, but I’m afraid it may be a bit too much to actually use. I’m having trouble finding anything I love that isn’t ridiculously popular!
Trying to brainstorm down the line of [name_u]Noah[/name_u] / [name_u]Kai[/name_u] / [name_m]Felix[/name_m] / [name_u]Oberon[/name_u] / [name_m]Fox[/name_m] …
I do like [name_m]Bodhi[/name_m], but I have a friend who has a son with that name. I really like [name_m]Caius[/name_m] and [name_m]Judah[/name_m]. [name_u]Rio[/name_u] is fabulous! Such a bright sound. I’d never thought of it before but it sounds very fresh, with the softer sounds I generally like in boys names.
[name_u]Kai[/name_u] is my favourite from your top three, especially because I love its nautical meaning as well. [name_m]Felix[/name_m] is lovely, and I get a warm, bright feeling from it. [name_u]Noah[/name_u] is sweet as well, but you’re right, it has gotten popular unfortunately - if you love it, don’t let that stop you! I don’t think [name_u]Kai[/name_u] is too popular either, I’ve met Noahs but never Kais.
Is [name_u]Kai[/name_u] really that popular? In my area (midwest U.S.), I honestly hear [name_m]Felix[/name_m] way more than [name_u]Kai[/name_u]. I don’t for see either of them coming near the top ten like [name_u]Noah[/name_u] though.
