Beck- boy or girl?

[name_m]Hi[/name_m] everyone!
I love the Name [name_u]Beck[/name_u] after hearing it recently on a Netflix show. I even added it to my signature. It’s the female character’s last name but I love it for a first name for a girl. [name_m]Just[/name_m] wondering what everyone’s opinion is on whether you think it’s more a boy or girl name. Recently I was thinking it could be good for a boy as well. Let me know what you all think! Thanks!

I think it’s one of those neutral names that’s definitely neutral. It could be short for [name_f]Becky[/name_f] or [name_f]Rebekah[/name_f], but also for [name_m]Beckett[/name_m], so it’s really up in the air.

My first association was of [name_u]Beck[/name_u] from Victorious, who’s a guy, but I also used to use it for a girl in one of my elementary classes, which was my second association

I mostly know it as a lastname. I’m leaning more towards boy, though getting [name_u]Beck[/name_u] from [name_f]Rebecca[/name_f] makes sense of course.

I would lean toward [name_u]Beck[/name_u] being a boy’s name and [name_m]Bec[/name_m] as a nickname for [name_f]Becky[/name_f] or [name_f]Rebecca[/name_f].

I’d lean more boy with it. It sounds more boyish to me (though I’m not surprised it was used for a girl. Shows do that. Boy name on girl sounds more ‘edgy.’) and perhaps that is because of [name_m]Beckett[/name_m] being common for a boy. I also associate it with the Victorious character, too.

I completely didn’t draw the connection to [name_f]Rebekah[/name_f] or [name_f]Becky[/name_f]! Most girls I know by those names go by Becs/Bex. I guess it could work as a nickname but, just [name_u]Beck[/name_u] alone, is all boy to me.

As a stand-alone name, I prefer it on a boy. Though I do like it as a nickname for [name_f]Rebecca[/name_f] or [name_f]Becky[/name_f].

It doesn’t need a gender.

[name_u]Beck[/name_u] on it’s own I would see as a boys name.

[name_u]Beck[/name_u] makes me think “peck” and “beak” so I don’t really see it as a stand-alone name, though I like it as a nn for [name_m]Beckett[/name_m] (boy) or [name_f]Rebecca[/name_f].

I tend to like boy names for girls so I love [name_u]Beck[/name_u] for a girl!

I also see [name_u]Beck[/name_u] being a nickname for [name_m]Beckham[/name_m] or [name_m]Beckett[/name_m] for a boy.

Similar names sounding like [name_u]Beck[/name_u] for a girl, I’ve seen the name Bexley with the nickname “Bex,” and the name Brec, which I think are both cute too.

I like [name_u]Beck[/name_u] for a girl! Especially with a more classic girl middle name, like:
[name_u]Beck[/name_u] [name_f]Madeline[/name_f]
[name_u]Beck[/name_u] [name_f]Violet[/name_f]
[name_u]Beck[/name_u] [name_f]Alexandra[/name_f]
