Becklund (to be called Beck) - first name material?

My first post… I have a week to go, and no name yet for our baby boy!

I like the name “[name_u]Beck[/name_u]”, but would like a long form name as well. “Becklund” is a family surname on my husband’s side. Would it work as a first name? Or is it just too last-name-y?

If it could work as a first name - any suggestions for middle name? Last name is 2 syllables, ending in “s”.

I like it and I like the nickname [name_u]Beck[/name_u]

Hmmm…
Becklund [name_m]Connor[/name_m]
Becklund [name_m]Asher[/name_m]
Becklund [name_u]Sawyer[/name_u]
Becklund [name_u]Noah[/name_u]
Becklund [name_m]Felix[/name_m]
Becklund [name_m]Arthur[/name_m]
Becklund [name_u]Elliott[/name_u]
Becklund [name_m]Lennox[/name_m]
Becklund [name_m]Oliver[/name_m]

[name_f]Hope[/name_f] this helps either qualify or disqualify some names for you :stuck_out_tongue:  Becklund surprisingly sounds good with a variety of sounding middle names to me…!

but Becklund sounds to me like a company, some giant corporation.

Not a fan of this. Maybe [name_m]Beckett[/name_m]?

When I read the title of this post, I thought, “Yes if it’s a family surname, no if not.” Since it is a family surname and does have significance for you, I think it gets a pass. Honestly, I don’t really like the sound of Becklund, but [name_u]Beck[/name_u] is a nice nickname.

What makes Becklund cool in this case is that it is a family surname. I like the nickname [name_u]Beck[/name_u]. I would use it!

For middle names, I would avoid any names ending in N’s, D’s, or S’s. I really like some of @sunflowerist’s suggestions that I’ve included with a few other ideas below…

Becklund [name_m]Oliver[/name_m]
Becklund [name_m]Tucker[/name_m]
Becklund [name_m]Leo[/name_m]
Becklund [name_u]Remy[/name_u]
Becklund [name_m]Merrick[/name_m]
Becklund [name_m]Asher[/name_m]
Becklund [name_m]Henley[/name_m]
Becklund [name_u]Noah[/name_u]
Becklund [name_u]Finley[/name_u]
Becklund [name_u]Hunter[/name_u]
Becklund [name_u]Sawyer[/name_u]
Becklund [name_m]Lennox[/name_m]
Becklund [name_u]Elliot[/name_u]
Becklund [name_m]Frederick[/name_m]
Becklund [name_m]Henry[/name_m]
Becklund [name_u]Everett[/name_u]
Becklund [name_u]Parker[/name_u]
Becklund [name_u]Roscoe[/name_u]
Becklund [name_m]Thatcher[/name_m]
Becklund [name_u]Porter[/name_u]

Best wishes!!

To me Becklund sounds like a scandinavian town or company but since it holds significance to you, I think you could pull it off.
I don’t have any suggestions to add but love Becklund ‘[name_u]Beck[/name_u]’ paired with something classical like [name_m]Henry[/name_m], [name_m]Oscar[/name_m], [name_u]Elliot[/name_u], [name_m]Louis[/name_m], [name_m]Felix[/name_m] or [name_m]Frederick[/name_m]!

I think [name_m]Beckett[/name_m] would definitely work better. Becklund sounds a bit like a corporation to me, sorry!

When I read the title, my first reaction was “I like it, but I would spell it Beckland.” BUT since it is a surname, I see why you would not want to change the spelling. It is a nice name and a great way to get to [name_u]Beck[/name_u]. [name_m]Beckett[/name_m] is a favorite of mine, so naturally I enjoy Becklund.

I would use BeckLAnd instead of the lund ending. Beckland looks handsome.

Becklund sounds clunky, and makes me think of a type of dog breed for some reason. I [name_m]Beckett[/name_m] better.

I prefer [name_m]Beckett[/name_m] or even [name_m]Beckham[/name_m].
I would keep Becklund as a middle name, or even just go with [name_u]Beck[/name_u] for a first name.

Thanks so much everyone - this is such great feedback! I never thought of the corporation thing, but it’s true. I think we’ll likely pass on it for a first name… there are other options. Thanks again!!
