Behati?!

I decided to search my kids’ names on NB in the hopes that in the similar names I would find a name that jumped out. I was looking at [name_u]Rowan[/name_u]'s similar names when [name_f]Behati[/name_f] jumped out to me.

I fell in love with the way it looks and sounds but also with the fact that it’s the Afrikaan version of [name_f]Beatrice[/name_f] which is my beloved grandmother’s name. I mentioned it to my husband thinking he was going to scoff at it but he kind of paused with a bemused look on his face and said that he weirdly really liked it.

I’m not really too bothered about the supermodel connection tbh.

What do you think? Any ideas for middle names?

Thanks,
[name_f]Hannah[/name_f] A.

Any takers?

I love [name_f]Behati[/name_f], which is kinda weird because I dislike [name_f]Beatrice[/name_f]. I think [name_f]Behati[/name_f]‘s beautiful and unusual, and that it sounds great next to your kids’ names. I’m glad to see someone else is liking [name_f]Behati[/name_f]. ^^

I can never decide if I like it or not. I think of the supermodel actually which I think makes it feel trendier and more usable. It’s got a sound that I like for some reason, but still, there’s something that puts me off.

I do prefer [name_f]Beatrice[/name_f] still - and [name_f]Beatrix[/name_f] and [name_f]Beatriz[/name_f]. Perhaps if I had some connection to South [name_f]Africa[/name_f] I could get on board.

I think it might be one of those ‘grower’ names that you like more and more over time. My initial reaction is that it’s pretty and unusual, and those are both good things in my book.

As a sibset, I think [name_f]Behati[/name_f] would fit with your other children’s names, which by the way are all GREAT names, especially [name_u]Eden[/name_u] [name_f]Olivia[/name_f].

I love it. Because it’s so unusual, I’d pair it with a more common middle. [name_f]Iris[/name_f] maybe?

I love [name_f]Behati[/name_f] but I don’t think it fits at all with your other children’s names. [name_f]Behati[/name_f] is to me very exotic and wild sounding.

I haven’t heard of it before and can’t say I like it, but I do like that it is a different language’s version of a name which holds great meaning to you.

I liked it when I first heard it, but after a while people mentioned ‘Be Hottie’ and that put me off it. I prefer [name_f]Beatrice[/name_f].

I’m not sure if you’ll like this, as for your girls so far you seem to really like having a sort of more unisex first name with a girly middle, but what about [name_f]Behati[/name_f] [name_f]Maxine[/name_f] or [name_f]Behati[/name_f] [name_f]Jasmine[/name_f]? If not, what about [name_f]Behati[/name_f] [name_f]Laura[/name_f] or [name_f]Behati[/name_f] [name_f]Lana[/name_f]?

I like [name_f]Behati[/name_f] a lot, but wouldn’t personally use it. It just seems so exotic and glamorous, since the only prominent association that I know of is the Namibian Victorian’s [name_f]Secret[/name_f] model. I don’t feel like I could pull off using it. My more realistic (for me) alternative is Betony.

If you feel like you can use it, go for it! It’s a cool name, and I love the connection to your grandmother.

[name_f]Behati[/name_f] is an absolutely intriguing stunner! I highly recommend it!!
