I would love to honour another child with a family members name or a mashup or by just being creative.
My two children have nn type of names that end in an ‘ee’ sound.
For girls the names I would like to be creative with are:
[name_f]Margaret[/name_f], [name_f]Mary[/name_f], [name_f]Marilyn[/name_f], [name_f]Hilda[/name_f], [name_f]Amanda[/name_f] and [name_f]Edna[/name_f].
No lyn/ [name_f]Lin[/name_f] names as bad associations with a family member so no variations of that name unfortunately. The first 3 names all start with the [name_f]Mar[/name_f] sound but [name_f]Marie[/name_f] / [name_f]Maria[/name_f] cannot be used either.
So far I have come up with these ideas; [name_f]Mamie[/name_f], [name_f]Mae[/name_f], [name_f]Maeve[/name_f], [name_f]Maisie[/name_f], [name_f]Marinda[/name_f] and [name_f]Miranda[/name_f] which connects some of the M names and [name_f]Amanda[/name_f]. Cannot use [name_u]Mandy[/name_u] as the person goes by this name.
[name_f]Margaret[/name_f] has the most possible diminutives of it’s name but DH isn’t keen. Maybe [name_f]Margot[/name_f], [name_f]Greta[/name_f] or [name_f]Pearl[/name_f]
[name_f]Hilda[/name_f] has the same meaning as my daughter and she was named after someone on my DH side of the family but it was also a nn that [name_f]Hilda[/name_f] my gr, gr granny went by (which is [name_f]Tilly[/name_f] - so [name_f]Mathilda[/name_f]) I quite like [name_f]Hilde[/name_f] but think it’s possibly too old a name really.
[name_f]Edna[/name_f] is not a name I am considering but I what about [name_u]Eden[/name_u]? It also sounds a little bit like my brothers name ([name_u]Dean[/name_u]) but I think he would love that with nn [name_f]Edie[/name_f].
Can you think of any other creative ways to use these names?
