Bell & El

[name_f]My[/name_f] favourite girls’ name is [name_f]Elara[/name_f]. I know this might be a bit controversial, but I actually like the [name_f]El[/name_f] / [name_f]Ellie[/name_f] nicknames that often come with it.

[name_f]My[/name_f] name is [name_f]Bella[/name_f], and my close friends, boyfriend, and family sometimes call me [name_f]Bell[/name_f], [name_f]Bell[/name_f] [name_f]Bell[/name_f], Bellie, or Belsie as fun nicknames. I’ve suddenly realised how similar those are to the nicknames [name_f]Elara[/name_f] might naturally get.

[name_f]Do[/name_f] you think this is something I should be concerned about or that could become confusing? Are the names too similar, or am I overthinking it? I’m mostly wondering whether this would feel confusing in everyday family life or if it’s a non-issue in practice.

I also do realise that realistically, when I have kids in 10 or so years, people may be less likely to use those nicknames for me [name_f][/name_f]- but it’s still something I’ve been wondering about.

I love [name_f]Elara[/name_f] enough that I wouldn’t want a small issue to stop me from using it, but I’m curious to hear others’ perspectives and if anyone else has similar circumstances.
