Bellamy for a boy?

Thoughts?

honestly, I’ve always preferred [name_u]Bellamy[/name_u] on a boy simply because i feel on a girl it would always get shortened to [name_f]Bella[/name_f]/Belle or even [name_f]Amy[/name_f]. Whereas on a boy, i think people would stick with the full name! It’s so handsome and gentle and the meaning is just adorable. On my long list i have the combo [name_m]Hugo[/name_m] [name_u]Bellamy[/name_u] xx

My partner has said I can have [name_u]Lawrence[/name_u] if he gets [name_u]Bellamy[/name_u] as a middle name. [name_m]Matthew[/name_m] [name_u]Bellamy[/name_u] of muse is our favourite musician lol!

that seems like an amazing compromise!!

Bellamy is lovely for a boy! There is a male character on the show my little brother watches named [name_u]Bellamy[/name_u].

I don’t think my family would love it but I think [name_u]Lawrence[/name_u] [name_u]Bellamy[/name_u] is nice. I’m warming to it.

I prefer [name_u]Bellamy[/name_u] on a boy than I do on a girl, for the same reason Sky85 said above- it’s the lead male on a show I watch (The 100 if anyone is curious).
I love it, and would love to use it, but I’ll never be able to because [name_f]Octavia[/name_f] is my #2 girls name, which I prefer, and I can’t use them together, as they are actually siblings on said show haha.

Octavia is lovely

My only reservation really is I’m not sure if all the combined names are a bit of a mouthful. Our surname is m@ckenzie
So [name_u]Lawrence[/name_u] [name_u]Bellamy[/name_u] M@ckenzie??
But he would be our [name_m]Lawrie[/name_m] for short.
I personally don’t mind that the middle name ends in Y and the surname ends in IE, but I think that will be the biggest criticism from my family.

We had a [name_m]David[/name_m] [name_u]Bellamy[/name_u], a lovable botanist, on TV here in the UK enthusing about the natural world, and that’s my overwhelming association with [name_u]Bellamy[/name_u]. I almost can’t find [name_u]Bell[/name_u] or [name_f]Amy[/name_f] in it! It’s a manly name for me.
[name_m]Ah[/name_m], I see you know [name_f]Muse[/name_f]! Maybe you are also in the UK - via [name_f]Narnia[/name_f] I see from your UC ? The [name_f]Muse[/name_f] link is very cool.

I live in the [name_u]South[/name_u] [name_u]West[/name_u]. Thanks I’ve never heard of [name_m]David[/name_m] [name_u]Bellamy[/name_u] but I don’t see the [name_u]Bell[/name_u] or the [name_f]Amy[/name_f] either. So that’s good

I don’t love [name_u]Bellamy[/name_u] for a boy as a first name but I do LOVE it in the middle name spot.

Lawerence [name_u]Bellamy[/name_u] sounds so handsome ! I love that combination

LOVE! I don’t know how anyone could possibly see this name on a girl, it’s all boy to me.

Absolutely love it! It’s so bright and bouncy, but feels handsome and distinguished at the same time. [name_u]Love[/name_u] the meaning too, and the potential for nickname [name_u]Bell[/name_u] on a boy.

Bellamy is terrific and I personally prefer it as a masculine name, so my thoughts are “yes, absolutely, please do!”
