A little while ago this was posted about the name [name]Bellamy[/name]…one of my personal favorite names. The topic it was on has now been deleted, but I wanted to answer these questions anyway.
Bounceparty, I don’t mean to offend you in any way, but I was already almost done writing this when I found your topic was deleted and I didn’t see the point in getting rid of it. If you want me to delete it though I will. So here goes nothing, [name]Bellamy[/name] lovers!
[name]Bellamy[/name] is a great name! Gorgeous, a real standout. I highly recommend it is all I can say. Like [name]Avery[/name] and [name]Emily[/name], but nowhere near as tryndee.
[name]Belle[/name] is a sweet nickname–[name]Ellie[/name], [name]Mimi[/name], and [name]Milly[/name] could also work.
[name]Bellamy[/name] never reminded me of lethargy before, the two words are actually quite far apart so I don’t think it would be a problem in theory. It actually reminds me of bravery. However, each person’s view of a name is different, so if [name]Bellamy[/name] has negative reminders for you that might be a problem. [name]Bellamy[/name] actually means “fine friend”, which I love and might help you forget the association. I think trying to forget about it and focusing on what you love about the name is all you can do now.
About siblings, I don’t really love [name]Violet[/name] and [name]Bellamy[/name] together. I can see [name]Violet[/name] and [name]Belle[/name] together, but only with [name]Belle[/name] as the full name. [name]Bellamy[/name] is very unusual whereas [name]Violet[/name], though a classic, is getting really trendy nowadays. [name]Bellamy[/name] was also originally a masculine name, and [name]Violet[/name] is undoubtedly feminine. I can better see [name]Violet[/name] with other newly-revived-and-moving-towards-overexposed girl names like [name]Clara[/name] and [name]Alice[/name] (not that I don’t like all of those names.) With [name]Bellamy[/name], you should use very masculine names for male siblings ([name]Tobias[/name] and [name]Elijah[/name] jumped out at me right away) and more unusual (though not strictly unisex) names for girls. I like [name]Esme[/name] for one (arghh, I swear I’m not using Twilight names on purpose!!)
Other names you might like (though not really as siblings): [name]Juliette[/name], [name]Vivienne[/name], [name]Eleanor[/name], [name]Cecelia[/name], [name]Arabella[/name], [name]Mirabella[/name], [name]Rosalie[/name], [name]Beatrix[/name], [name]Emmeline[/name], [name]Anneliese[/name], [name]Felix[/name] (m), [name]Elliot[/name] (m), [name]Josephine[/name], [name]Genevieve[/name], [name]Lucienne[/name], [name]Penelope[/name], [name]Amity[/name]
Also, I know [name]Jane[/name] is kind of a popular middle name, but it doesn’t feel overused at all like [name]Marie[/name] and [name]Faith[/name] do. I think [name]Bellamy[/name] [name]Jane[/name] is an adorable combo! You should probably use a one- or two-syllable classic feminine name as a MN for [name]Bellamy[/name]. Ooh, what about [name]Bellamy[/name] [name]Honor[/name]? Or [name]Bellamy[/name] [name]Frances[/name] or [name]Bellamy[/name] [name]Charlotte[/name]? Also, you should try to avoid repeating sounds, like E, L, M, or B. As in, [name]Bellamy[/name] [name]Violet[/name] might be okay but not [name]Bellamy[/name] [name]Lily[/name]. And this might be just me, but MNs beginning with a T sound like “meat” when paired with [name]Bellamy[/name]. Pity, because [name]Bellamy[/name] [name]Tess[/name] and [name]Bellamy[/name] [name]Truth[/name] are so cute!
[name]EDIT[/name]: I guess the section about MNs was not needed lol but it’s still there for anyone else who wants to check it out! That actually really helped me get my own thoughts in order about MNs for [name]Bellamy[/name]…
Good luck!
