do you think [name]Bellamy[/name] sounds like a girl or a guy name?
most defintely a girl. in every instance [name]Ive[/name] heard it used is for a girl.
reminds me of [name]Bill[/name] [name]Bellamy[/name] - he used to be on MTV… actor and stuff. comes off as a surname or a guy’s name.
I agree that [name]Bellamy[/name] is a name for females. When I think [name]Bellamy[/name], I think of one of the daughters in the show “9 by Design”. If it makes any difference to you, [name]Bellamy[/name] means “Fine friend”, and is listed in the Nameberry database as a name for males.

Sounds VERY feminine to me. I don’t think a boy would like being name this, but a girl would. Especially with the popularity of [name]Isabella[/name].
[name]Even[/name] though it’s a surname of French origin, meaning “fine friend,” when used as a first name it definitely has a feminine appearance to it. Especially when you break it down to “[name]Belle[/name]” and “[name]Amy[/name].”

I agree, but then again, [name]Bellamy[/name] has tons of girly nicknames-- [name]Bella[/name], [name]Belle[/name], [name]Amy[/name], etc…
I concur with all that has been said here. I mean, what guy wants to be named something with “[name]Belle[/name]” in it? When you look at the nicknames - [name]Belle[/name], [name]Bella[/name], [name]Amy[/name] - I think it just has to be a name for a girl…
On the off chance you’re considering it for a boy, I’d definitely call him [name]Beau[/name].

I think it’s actually a guy’s name, but it sounds very, very girly.
I think of it as a guy’s name. I know everyone else thinks it sounds too girly with ‘bell’ being in it, but the way it looks is definitively masculine to me.
If I met a girl with the name [name]Bellamy[/name], I would assume she was given a boy’s name. And in general, my pre-conceptions of girls I hear of with surname first names aren’t always very flattering, but they’re also not always correct.
Besides, who said that ‘bells’ have to be a feminine thing all the time? I don’t get that…
But then again, maybe I think of it being masculine because I automatically think of the [name]Bellamy[/name] Brothers and all the other famous [name]Bellamy[/name]'s I can think of who happen to all be males…
Anyway, that’s my two cents. But I’m also someone who think the names [name]Ashley[/name], [name]Leslie[/name], and [name]Lindsay[/name] look better on a boy anyway… : P
