I went with [name]Arabella[/name] and [name]Isabella[/name]. They are both just so feminine and sweet. I also really like [name]Annabelle[/name] (and [name]Anabela[/name]).
I chose [name]Arabella[/name] and [name]Belle[/name].
[name]Arabella[/name] just sounds beautiful and feminine and sophisticated to me so that’s my favourite. I’d use it but my partner’s vito’d it!
Therefore instead we agree on [name]Mirabelle[/name] or [name]Mirabella[/name] which coudl be another option for you too? The meaning is “wonderful” which I love!
I also love the simple [name]Belle[/name] especially since Beauty and the Beast was my favourite Disney film growing up and I love the intellectual and independent [name]Belle[/name] in the film Nice association I think! [name]Belle[/name] is just so sweet and down to earth I think it can definitely stand on it’s own!
I chose [name]Amabel[/name] and [name]Annabel[/name]. [name]Mabel[/name] is also nice, but I always liked [name]Bellamy[/name] for a boy… blushes To me it’s a last name, and last names as first names are for boys in my head. There’s also [name]Phil[/name] [name]Bellamy[/name] from ‘Heartbeat’ which is a sweet show, so [name]Bellamy[/name] is very linked to a man in my head
I also love [name]Clarabel[/name] and [name]Cybele[/name]
I can’t believe I forgot [name]Mirabelle[/name]/[name]Mirabel[/name]/[name]Mirabella[/name]! I love the name and meaning, too. I’ll go add it right now…
I realize I am an exception to the rule, but I just can’t take -bel/-belle names seriously. They are too frilly for my taste. I do like [name]Belle[/name] though. It’s simple and classier than any of the rest.
Most of the time, I do think that surnames are for boys (with the exception of [name]Miranda[/name]). Nameberry lists [name]Bellamy[/name] as masculine, too. I hear it considered for a girl more often, though.
Added [name]Clarabel[/name] and [name]Cybele[/name]!
[name]Jill[/name], I love [name]Anne[/name] names, too!
Anne0218, I do find some -belle/-bel names frilly, but frilly isn’t necessarily a bad thing (for me). I probably wouldn’t use a -belle/-bel name right now; the trend is quite popular.
