Belle: Nickname or Fullname?

I really love the name [name_f]Belle[/name_f], but sometimes I feel like it should be short for [name_f]Isabelle[/name_f], which I also like but not as much as the stand alone name. So I was wondering what opinions everyone else has? Thanks to everyone who replies

Both [name_f]Belle[/name_f] and [name_f]Isabelle[/name_f] are timeless beauties. Personally, I would use [name_f]Belle[/name_f] as a nickname but only because I also really love [name_f]Annabelle[/name_f]. In your case, I think you could use [name_f]Belle[/name_f] as a stand alone name because you like it more than [name_f]Isabelle[/name_f]. Tons of popular names, like [name_f]Mia[/name_f], started out as nicknames. [name_f]Bella[/name_f] has rise up the charts and [name_f]Belle[/name_f] is already #211 on name berry so it’s definitely useable.

I think it’s got enough as a stand alone name but it also depends on your last name. If it was longer than one (maybe two) syllables [name_f]Belle[/name_f] could be a gorgeous counterpoint. Personally, where I am it would be refreshing to meet a “[name_f]Belle[/name_f]” rather than an [name_f]Isabelle[/name_f]. I also think about [name_f]Belle[/name_f] from Beauty and the Beast  (Smart, plucky, beautiful and kind)

I find [name_f]Belle[/name_f] to be absolutely gorgeous. Its my nickname but I think it could work fantastic as a full name too.

[name_f]Belle[/name_f] works well as its own name, and I generally advocate for using the name you’re going to call them, not a longer form just because!

It definitely works as a stand-alone name but still I personally like it better as only a nn.

[name_f]Belle[/name_f] is a nickname of [name_f]Annabelle[/name_f], [name_f]Isabelle[/name_f] and other -[name_f]Belle[/name_f] names rather than a name on its own right but I suppose it can be a filler middle name like [name_f]Rose[/name_f].
