[name_m]How[/name_m] do you feel about the name [name_f]Belle[/name_f]? I really think I like it, but I’m unsure, it sometimes feels like it’s lacking something for me (a la [name_f]May[/name_f]), but other times it feels absolutely gorgeous.
What would you pair with [name_f]Belle[/name_f], either with Belle up front, or Belle in the MN spot?
[name_f]Belle[/name_f] is one of those beautiful, simple middles that works anywhere (similar to [name_f]Maeve[/name_f]). I really like:
[name_f]Isla[/name_f] [name_f]Belle[/name_f]
[name_f]Seraphina[/name_f] [name_f]Belle[/name_f]
[name_f]Jessamine[/name_f] [name_f]Belle[/name_f]
[name_u]Rowan[/name_u] [name_f]Belle[/name_f]
[name_f]Delfina[/name_f] [name_f]Belle[/name_f]
[name_f]Naomi[/name_f] [name_f]Belle[/name_f]
[name_f]Lillian[/name_f] [name_f]Belle[/name_f]
[name_u]Vivian[/name_u] [name_f]Belle[/name_f]
[name_f]Yvette[/name_f] [name_f]Belle[/name_f]
[name_f]Freesia[/name_f] [name_f]Belle[/name_f]
So I think I totally misunderstood your question. Lol. Above I gave you combos with [name_f]Belle[/name_f] as a first and I’m thinking you meant with [name_f]Belle[/name_f] as the middle, here goes combos with [name_f]Belle[/name_f] in the middle.
I know a little [name_f]Belle[/name_f] and I think it’s really lovely. I find it incredibly dull in the middle spot though… it sounds nice, yes, but as with [name_f]Rose[/name_f]/[name_f]May[/name_f]/[name_f]Pearl[/name_f] it just screams unimaginative to me.
I love [name_f]Belle[/name_f] as a stand alone name. It’s too short for my sibset, but I do love it. I feel the same for [name_f]Nell[/name_f]. The issue I have with it is that it sounds so abrupt in the front with a long middle name. Because of that, I’ve begun liking it more in the middle. If I were to ever use it up front, it would be as a nickname because of the abruptness I mentioned up there. [name_f]Arabelle[/name_f] is my favorite
I think I might have that same issue, haha. I love [name_f]Isobel[/name_f], [name_f]Arabelle[/name_f]/[name_f]Arabella[/name_f], [name_f]Mirabelle[/name_f], and even [name_f]Claribelle[/name_f] and [name_f]Norabel[/name_f], but I just don’t know how I feel with [name_f]Belle[/name_f] up front. However, I love these combos that have been suggested:
I really like [name_f]Belle[/name_f]. It is feminine and gorgeous without being [name_m]OTT[/name_m] frilly.
I’m not that good with combos, but my favorite version of [name_f]Belle[/name_f] is for any variant of [name_f]Isabelle[/name_f]/[name_f]Isobel[/name_f].
I love [name_f]Belle[/name_f]. It’s gorgeous and underused. I wish more people would use it but she gets overshadowed by ‘bella’ names. In the middle spot, [name_f]Belle[/name_f] feels like a filler. One syllable fn’s are always tough but I love the interrupted flow they cause. I like:
[name_f]Belle[/name_f] [name_f]Violet[/name_f]
[name_f]Belle[/name_f] [name_u]Eden[/name_u]
[name_f]Belle[/name_f] [name_f]Rose[/name_f]- double fn
[name_f]Belle[/name_f] [name_u]Hollis[/name_u]
[name_f]Belle[/name_f] [name_f]Iris[/name_f]
[name_f]Belle[/name_f] [name_f]Claire[/name_f]
[name_f]Anna[/name_f] [name_f]Belle[/name_f]- double fn. I love it while [name_f]Annabelle[/name_f] is just, meh
A friend of mine has a daughter named [name_f]Belle[/name_f]! It’s so simple and sweet and it’s really grown on me as a given name. I prefer [name_f]Belle[/name_f] to any [name_f]Bella[/name_f] name.
I’d avoid a one syllable combo because 1/1 names tend to sound choppy. [name_f]My[/name_f] friend’s daughter is [name_f]Belle[/name_f] [name_f]Marie[/name_f] ([name_f]Marie[/name_f] is a family name). Here are some other suggestions:
I feel like all I’ve done so far this morning is disagree with people! Haha, whoops. Anyway, I can’t really shake the Disney association (but only because it was my favorite Disney princess movie), which keeps me from liking it as a standalone name. I am also put off by the abruptness spoken about above. But I love it as a nickname. As a nickname, the association adds charm.
