Benam

I just came across the name Benham and am immediately obsessed with it. However, all our children have 5 letter names and we don’t want to change that up. Does Benam look right? [name_m]Or[/name_m] would Benim be better or any other spelling?

Hmm Benham does look more complete than Benam and benim looks like denim, maybe Benem?

Benam looks okay – at first glance I would assume it was a non-English name and that the child or his parents were from a non-English-speaking country, not sure if that’s something that bothers you. I agree with the previous comment, Benim looks too much like denim to me. Benham is my favourite, and I don’t think anyone would ever notice something like how many letters your children’s names are, but if you do insist on another spelling I’d stick to Benam!

This is very uncharacteristic of me, but I think I actually prefer the look of Benam! I would love to meet a little Benam, what a fun name. Although I do feel like I want to say Benham and Benam differently; since my best friend is in the UK I’m more inclined to say -ham names like Birmingham with an “um” ending rather than a “ham” ending, but Benam makes me want to say ben-NAM where Benham makes me want to say BEN-um. Not sure if that makes a difference for you? Either way, love the feel of the name.

Good luck!

I actually quite like the look of Benam. It’s got a surname-y feel and looks quite straightforward.

Unpopular opinion here, my favourite is actually Benim!
