That’s fair! I can appreciate that some people will make this association and that it might be a strong one. I think because I live in [name_f]Canada[/name_f] the association is not as top-of-mind here but it’s something to be aware of for sure, and I’m glad that it was brought up so we’re thinking about it!
[name_m]Benjamin[/name_m] [name_m]Mack[/name_m] is my husband’s favourite by far [name_f][/name_f]- he’ll be happy it’s getting some love!
Thank you! We aren’t super tied to [name_m]Thomas[/name_m] so I agree that changing the middle is an easy fix.
[name_f][/name_f]And yes, I think once baby is named, hardly anyone will be examining the name from every angle like I am now. In fact, I know I have been overthinking the names in general as we’ve had a lot of time patiently waiting for baby to arrive! Today I have been reminding myself that while the name is important, it’s far from the most important thing about welcoming a new family member and we should be stressing a little less about this choice and just enjoying this big milestone. [name_f]Baby[/name_f] will grow into whatever name we choose and it’ll be great
[name_f]Love[/name_f] [name_m]Benjamin[/name_m] [name_m]James[/name_m] and [name_m]Benjamin[/name_m] [name_m]Walter[/name_m]!
I’ve definitely thought of the McHamilton thing too and it’s one of the things that has held me back from [name_m]Mack[/name_m]. While I really enjoy [name_m]Mack[/name_m] as a name, I know that kids tease so that’s been in the back of my mind with that one.
[name_f][/name_f][name_f]Love[/name_f] a lot of your alternative ideas [name_f][/name_f]- especially [name_m]Benjamin[/name_m] [name_m]Rory[/name_m] and [name_m]Benjamin[/name_m] [name_m]Charlie[/name_m]!
[name_f][/name_f][name_m]Bennett[/name_m] is also on our list and I do love it too. [name_m]Benjamin[/name_m] was our front-runner but this last week I have been revisiting [name_m]Bennett[/name_m]. I think at the end of the day, I’m really in it for the Ben/Benny nicknames and those have my heart. So whether we end up going with [name_m]Benjamin[/name_m] or [name_m]Bennett[/name_m], I think I will be happy either way
I agree with all of that – such a good mindset to have. The search and the analysing can be fun aspects of the process too, but it can be hard to finally let go of that phase and rest on the decision made. You’ve done the hard work already so you can be assured that the name you choose will be a good one
I voted for [name_m]Benjamin[/name_m] [name_m]August[/name_m], but [name_m]Benjamin[/name_m] [name_m]Kit[/name_m] is a tie. [name_m]Kit[/name_m] feels so modern and refreshing that it rewrites the founding father association. [name_m]Benjamin[/name_m] [name_m]August[/name_m], on the other hand, is stately and has gravitas. Depends what vibe you’re going for! Other suggestions:
[name_f][/name_f][name_m]Benjamin[/name_m] [name_m]Leo[/name_m] [name_m]Hamilton[/name_m]
[name_f][/name_f][name_m]Benjamin[/name_m] [name_m]Wilder[/name_m] [name_m]Hamilton[/name_m]
[name_f][/name_f][name_m]Benjamin[/name_m] [name_m]Rhys[/name_m] [name_m]Hamilton[/name_m]
[name_f][/name_f][name_m]Benjamin[/name_m] [name_m]Fox[/name_m] [name_m]Hamilton[/name_m]
[name_f][/name_f][name_m]Benjamin[/name_m] [name_m]Asa[/name_m] [name_m]Hamilton[/name_m]
[name_f][/name_f][name_m]Benjamin[/name_m] [name_m]Reed[/name_m] [name_m]Hamilton[/name_m]
[name_f]My[/name_f] son’s name is [name_m]Benton[/name_m], a little less founding father. However, our labor nurse asked what his name was going to be and when I told her [name_m]Benton[/name_m] [name_m]Grover[/name_m] she said it sounded very presidential. lol
[name_f][/name_f]I do feel like [name_m]Benton[/name_m] [name_m]Hamilton[/name_m] would flow a bit better than [name_m]Benjamin[/name_m] [name_m]Hamilton[/name_m]. [name_m]Benjamin[/name_m] [name_m]Hamilton[/name_m] is quite the mouthful. But [name_m]Benjamin[/name_m] [name_m]August[/name_m] or [name_m]Benjamin[/name_m] [name_m]Ellis[/name_m] [name_m]Hamilton[/name_m] are to die for!
I never would’ve made the connection until you said it… and I love history! [name_f][/name_f] I love your options of [name_m]August[/name_m], [name_m]Kit[/name_m], and [name_m]Ellis[/name_m] with [name_m]Benjamin[/name_m]. [name_f][/name_f] I voted for [name_m]August[/name_m], but I’m not sure I love him more than [name_m]Kit[/name_m] or [name_m]Ellis[/name_m]! [name_f][/name_f] [name_m]Benjamin[/name_m] [name_m]Ellis[/name_m] is lots of fun to say especially. [name_f][/name_f] I love that [name_m]Mack[/name_m] is a family name for you though… right?
[name_f][/name_f]Here’s a few other ideas:
[name_f][/name_f][name_m]Benjamin[/name_m] [name_m]Amias[/name_m]
[name_f][/name_f][name_m]Benjamin[/name_m] [name_m]Otto[/name_m]
[name_f][/name_f][name_m]Benjamin[/name_m] [name_m]Isaac[/name_m]
[name_f][/name_f][name_m]Benjamin[/name_m] [name_m]Hugo[/name_m]
[name_f][/name_f][name_m]Benjamin[/name_m] [name_m]Rory[/name_m]
[name_f][/name_f][name_m]Benjamin[/name_m] [name_m]Levi[/name_m]
[name_f][/name_f][name_m]Benjamin[/name_m] [name_m]Felix[/name_m]
[name_f][/name_f][name_m]Benjamin[/name_m] [name_f]Vale[/name_f]
[name_f][/name_f][name_m]Benjamin[/name_m] [name_m]Flynn[/name_m]
[name_f][/name_f][name_m]Benjamin[/name_m] [name_m]Atlas[/name_m]
[name_f][/name_f][name_m]Benjamin[/name_m] [name_m]Etienne[/name_m] (trying to think of more unexpected ways to use some of the names I think I remember being family names lol…. For Steven)
[name_f][/name_f][name_m]Benjamin[/name_m] [name_m]Cormac[/name_m] (really like this!)
[name_f][/name_f][name_m]Benjamin[/name_m] [name_m]Maxence[/name_m]
[name_f][/name_f][name_m]Benjamin[/name_m] [name_m]Jude[/name_m]
[name_f][/name_f][name_m]Benjamin[/name_m] [name_m]Ivo[/name_m]
[name_f][/name_f][name_m]Benjamin[/name_m] [name_m]Lionel[/name_m]
[name_f][/name_f][name_m]Benjamin[/name_m] [name_m]Rome[/name_m]
[name_f][/name_f][name_m]Benjamin[/name_m] [name_m]Tate[/name_m]
[name_f][/name_f][name_m]Benjamin[/name_m] [name_m]Rhys[/name_m]
Good luck!
Also a Canadian so without the four fathers association, [name_m]Bennett[/name_m] [name_m]Hamilton[/name_m] has a better sound IMO than [name_m]Benjamin[/name_m] [name_m]Hamilton[/name_m]. Both are good names on their own but when paired, [name_m]Bennett[/name_m] leaps ahead (for me). It’s been a back burner option for us too!
