That’s fair! I can appreciate that some people will make this association and that it might be a strong one. I think because I live in [name_f]Canada[/name_f] the association is not as top-of-mind here but it’s something to be aware of for sure, and I’m glad that it was brought up so we’re thinking about it!

[name_f][/name_f]And yes, I think once baby is named, hardly anyone will be examining the name from every angle like I am now. In fact, I know I have been overthinking the names in general as we’ve had a lot of time patiently waiting for baby to arrive! Today I have been reminding myself that while the name is important, it’s far from the most important thing about welcoming a new family member and we should be stressing a little less about this choice and just enjoying this big milestone. [name_f]Baby[/name_f] will grow into whatever name we choose and it’ll be great

I’ve definitely thought of the McHamilton thing too and it’s one of the things that has held me back from [name_m]Mack[/name_m]. While I really enjoy [name_m]Mack[/name_m] as a name, I know that kids tease so that’s been in the back of my mind with that one.

[name_f][/name_f][name_m]Bennett[/name_m] is also on our list and I do love it too. [name_m]Benjamin[/name_m] was our front-runner but this last week I have been revisiting [name_m]Bennett[/name_m]. I think at the end of the day, I’m really in it for the Ben/Benny nicknames and those have my heart. So whether we end up going with [name_m]Benjamin[/name_m] or [name_m]Bennett[/name_m], I think I will be happy either way

I agree with all of that – such a good mindset to have. The search and the analysing can be fun aspects of the process too, but it can be hard to finally let go of that phase and rest on the decision made. You’ve done the hard work already so you can be assured that the name you choose will be a good one

[name_m]Kit[/name_m] feels so modern and refreshing that it rewrites the founding father association. [name_m]Benjamin[/name_m] [name_m]August[/name_m], on the other hand, is stately and has gravitas. Depends what vibe you’re going for! Other suggestions:

Also a Canadian so without the four fathers association, [name_m]Bennett[/name_m] [name_m]Hamilton[/name_m] has a better sound IMO than [name_m]Benjamin[/name_m] [name_m]Hamilton[/name_m]. Both are good names on their own but when paired, [name_m]Bennett[/name_m] leaps ahead (for me). It’s been a back burner option for us too!
