We’re endlessly debating whether to name our son [name_m]Otto[/name_m] [name_u]Benjamin[/name_u] or [name_u]Benjamin[/name_u] [name_m]Otto[/name_m]. We have family ties to [name_u]Germany[/name_u] but live in the USA.
Big sister’s name is [name_f]Maya[/name_f] [name_f]Josephine[/name_f], and we have a hyphenated last name.
I like how ‘unusual’ [name_m]Otto[/name_m] is, but I worry that some may have a hard time pronouncing it?
If we go with [name_u]Benjamin[/name_u], we’d probably call him [name_m]Benji[/name_m] most of the time.
I’ve never found [name_m]Otto[/name_m] hard to pronounce at all. [name_m]Otto[/name_m] [name_u]Benjamin[/name_u] is my favorite out of the two, and [name_m]Otto[/name_m] [name_u]Benjamin[/name_u] & [name_f]Maya[/name_f] [name_f]Josephine[/name_f] are a match made in heaven!!
I have a [name_u]Benjamin[/name_u] nicknamed [name_m]Benji[/name_m], so a little biased here. Everyone loves his nickname, so [name_u]Benjamin[/name_u] gets my vote
Otto [name_u]Benjamin[/name_u]! [name_m]Otto[/name_m] is so fresh and cool, and I really don’t think it will face any pronunciation issues. I love it. <3
I prefer [name_u]Benjamin[/name_u] as a name but I think [name_m]Otto[/name_m] sounds best with [name_f]Maya[/name_f] and would work better with a hyphenated surname. [name_f]Maya[/name_f] [name_f]Josephine[/name_f] and [name_m]Otto[/name_m] [name_u]Benjamin[/name_u] look so complimentary to me
I don’t find [name_m]Otto[/name_m] hard to say at all.
They are both gorgeous but I think [name_m]Otto[/name_m] is perfect with [name_f]Maya[/name_f]. They share the same short, spunky feel, and [name_u]Benjamin[/name_u] is a beautiful classic middle to match [name_f]Josephine[/name_f]. Best of luck!
I like it both way rounds but I think [name_u]Benjamin[/name_u] [name_m]Otto[/name_m] has a nicer flow than [name_m]Otto[/name_m] [name_u]Benjamin[/name_u]. Especially as your surname is quite long, the short middle “[name_m]Otto[/name_m]” acts as a nice break between the longer first and last names to create a nice rhythm.
Definitely Otto! I love it on its own and with Maya (I love that they’re both 4 letter/2 syllable names) and don’t really see why people would have an issue with pronunciation. It seems pretty straightforward to me. Otto Benjamin sounds fantastic and matches the look and flow of Maya Josephine perfectly!
I’m not a huge [name_m]Otto[/name_m] fan, but [name_m]Otto[/name_m] [name_m]Benjamin[/name_m] compliments [name_f]Maya[/name_f] [name_f]Josephine[/name_f] perfectly. I’d go with that order.
Ooh, [name_m]Otto[/name_m] and [name_f]Maya[/name_f] are phenomenal together! Might I suggest you consider [name_m]Benji[/name_m] as a full name as well? I think it definitely works, and would be lovely with [name_f]Maya[/name_f].
I love [name_m]Otto[/name_m] - so sweet and warm! [name_m]Otto[/name_m] [name_u]Benjamin[/name_u] is lovely and i think the pronunciation is fairly intuitive
I love the name [name_u]Benjamin[/name_u]! [name_f]My[/name_f] vote goes to [name_u]Benjamin[/name_u] [name_m]Otto[/name_m]. It sounds wonderful for [name_f]Maya[/name_f]’s brother!
