Hi Berries
I’ve been thinking about the name Beresford lately. It’s pronounced Bear-iss-ferd and is an English name meaning “ford where barley grows”. I love a lot of English names and this one has been growing on me. I’d like to know your thoughts on the name and any middle name ideas you can think of.
Thanks!

It’s a little too heavy for me personally (I’m not sure heavy is the right word, I just mean it’s a bit long and feels like it would be the name of a city) but it does sound cool! I really like the [name_m]Ford[/name_m] ending, and the nickname possibilities of [name_m]Ford[/name_m] or [name_m]Bear[/name_m]. Plus the meaning is wonderful.
Middle name ideas…

I think it sounds so distinguished and would make a really unexpected and handsome name for a boy. Nn “Bear” would be adorable, too, if you’re into it.
Personally, I associate it with classic [name_f]English[/name_f] literature. I feel like it’s been used in more than one book I’ve read, but [name_u]North[/name_u] & [name_u]South[/name_u] comes to mind for one.

@skylerros Okay. Do you have any middle name ideas?
Its not really my style and seems like a mouthful. I feel the beginning of the name doesn’t flow with the end of the name. But I have no reference to this name. Maybe if I knew the city or anyone with the name or had heard it before in some context at all, I’d have a different opinion. I agree the nickname [name_m]Bear[/name_m] is cute and I do like giving “Bear” a more formal name because whenever I hear the name [name_m]Bear[/name_m], it just feels nicknamey like it does need something substantial and more formal. And I really like [name_m]Ford[/name_m].
I like [name_m]Beresford[/name_m] [name_u]Luca[/name_u] best out of all the suggestions. [name_u]Or[/name_u] [name_m]Lucas[/name_m] or [name_m]Luther[/name_m] would be nice.

@Rachelhaydenberk Okay, thanks for the feedback. I like [name_m]Lucas[/name_m].
It has a lot of personality and if it doesn’t work out as a first name for you, then I think it still holds a lot of potential as a middle name. It definitely gives me boss baby vibes

Oh, that’s interesting. I live in [name_m]Washington[/name_m] state. I first heard it from the YouTuber SJ Strum and she knew someone named [name_m]Beresford[/name_m] who pronounced it the way I do.
I agree! I think it sounds professional but cool. Haha
