I’m so sorry you are having a hard time with names. I too had trouble not naming DD until we left the hospital days later. We went with a list, but when we saw her none of those names fit her, sending me into panic mode. We ended up with [name]Annabelle[/name]! I saw that was your DD’s middle name. And I am pregnant again. If this one is a girl she might be [name]Lucy[/name]! So we have the same taste in names it seems. So let me see if I can help any by giving you some from my list:
[name]Daphne[/name]
[name]Charlotte[/name]
[name]Georgia[/name]
[name]Sabrina[/name]
[name]Emmeline[/name]
[name]Caroline[/name]
[name]Juliette[/name]
[name]Clara[/name]
[name]Violet[/name]
[name]Lily[/name]
[name]Katherine[/name] by itself as a first name is beautiful and classic and I love nn [name]Kate[/name]!
and I just love the simplistic virtue names of [name]Grace[/name] and [name]Joy[/name]!
[name]Hope[/name] that helps. I know this is stressful, but remember to breathe and know that whatever name you choose for her it will be perfect. Someone may have to remind me of these words come [name]December[/name])!Have your DD’s had an input on the name? I always think it is sweet when siblings help choose the name. Good luck and Congratulations on the new little blessing!
You will find a name, whether it’s [name]Isla[/name] or not. Take your time and don’t panic!
I think [name]Isla[/name] is beautiful and works very well with [name]Carys[/name] and [name]Lucy[/name]. However, if it doesn’t work with your last name, here are some other ideas.
[name]Eve[/name] - I love the simplicity of this. It’s one of my favorite names.
[name]Rose[/name] - I haven’t seen this very often as a first name and think it’s quite lovely and refreshing.
[name]Pearl[/name] - Another, like [name]Rose[/name], that’s more often seen in the middle but makes a great first name.
[name]Helen[/name] - I would love to meet a little [name]Helen[/name].
[name]Nell[/name] - Simple and strong.
[name]Cleo[/name] - Quirky and fun.
[name]Alice[/name] - This is another of my favorite names.
[name]Adele[/name] - I met a little [name]Adele[/name] the other day and thought it was so sweet.
(Edited to take out [name]Anne[/name]/[name]Annie[/name] as an option - forgot [name]Lucy[/name]'s mn:-)
First of all, CONGRATULATIONS on the birth of your newest baby girl! Not only that you are a superb namer just look at your girl’s names, they are beautiful!! I am sure you will find the name that clicks very soon.
I would keep [name]Catherine[/name] as it matches the style of [name]Elizabeth[/name] and [name]Annabel[/name] very well. So, that just leaves us a first name to choose.
I guess we should veer away from names ending with an ‘a’ as your surname ends in the ‘a’ sound.
A few ideas for starters
[name]Sally[/name]
[name]Bridie[/name]
[name]Chloe[/name]
[name]Juliet[/name]
[name]Gretel[/name]
[name]Margot[/name] (does this fit with your surname?)
[name]Abigail[/name]
[name]Gwyneth[/name]
[name]Rosalie[/name]
[name]Suri[/name]/[name]Sari[/name]
[name]Ella[/name]
[name]Daisy[/name]
[name]Heidi[/name]
[name]Morgan[/name]
[name]Ciel[/name] (pronounced as Sea [name]Elle[/name], and it means sky)
[name]Maren[/name]
[name]Laurel[/name]
[name]Xanthe[/name] (zan thee) (my granddaughter’s name she is 1 y.o.)
best wishes,
rollo sending hugs and hope we can help you out
[name]Isla[/name] [name]Catherine[/name] is absolutely beautiful (and I don’t think you should worry about it being pronounced differently than it looks – people will figure it out). I’m not sure what I think about it with your last name – depending on when you ask me, it could be too many 'a’s or it could flow perfectly and sound poetic and gorgeous (right now, it sounds very poetic to me).
IF you feel like you can’t use it because of your last name, my favorite name for you is [name]Alice[/name] – it goes with [name]Carys[/name] and [name]Lucy[/name], sounds great with [name]Catherine[/name], and even sounds a bit like [name]Isla[/name].
[name]Daphne[/name] also goes well with [name]Catherine[/name] and your other DD names.
Congratulations on your baby daughter! Good luck, and let us know what you end up with so we can congratulate you properly.
[name]Hi[/name],
Congratulations on the arrival of your new baby girl! I agree that [name]Catherine[/name] for the mn works really well. I love the suggestions of [name]Margot[/name] [name]Catherine[/name] or [name]Violet[/name] [name]Catherine[/name], and think both sound great with [name]Carys[/name] and [name]Lucy[/name]. I do think that [name]Isla[/name] ‘[name]MAY[/name]-ya’ sounds a little rhyme-y, but [name]Isla[/name] is a beautiful name, and I wouldn’t worry about the pronunciation.
Good luck! I hope you’ll post to let us know what you decide. I’m sure it will be perfect!
My friends also named their baby [name]Isla[/name] but changed it a few days later. Mostly b/c every nurse and doctor that came in the room called her Izz-lah. They went with [name]Audrey[/name]. [name]Audrey[/name] [name]Catherine[/name] is lovely.
totally agree with this PP. isla is beautiful, but it’s the double a endings that holds me back.
love [name]Margot[/name] and [name]Violet[/name] with your last name & sibset

[name]Charlotte[/name]
[name]Hazel[/name]
[name]Piper[/name]
[name]Tess[/name]
[name]Adele[/name]/[name]Adeline[/name]
[name]Alice[/name]
do you have a picture of her you could post? i know it’s personal, but maybe people will have thoughts on “who” she looks like…
good luck!
also like [name]Giselle[/name] and [name]Josephine[/name]. You wanted an I name, is [name]Inez[/name] too far out there?
[name]Iris[/name] [name]Catherine[/name]
[name]Ivy[/name] [name]Catherine[/name]
[name]Isadora[/name] [name]Catherine[/name]-This should work with your last name
Avaline [name]Catherine[/name]
Wow, ladies. Can I just say thank you so much?! I’m so touched at the time you all spent with these names because they are all very much along the lines of what we like. Thank you, thank you.
[name]Margot[/name] is a name we had been throwing around for months, but we just aren’t sure she looks like a [name]Margot[/name]. I don’t know how to explain that.
I’m not sure how to post a picture on here or I would. [name]Baby[/name] girl has dark hair, fair skin, and is probably the most ‘feminine’ looking girl I’ve had. Soft features, very sweet demeanor. To me, the name [name]Isla[/name] is simple, feminine and beautiful, which is how I see her. I think that’s what so hard about it not really working with our last name - and dh seems opposed to changing our last name.
Dh and I both like the name [name]Alice[/name] from your lists…but we aren’t sure if we love it. I really like the simplicity of it, but there is also something holding me back from loving it and I haven’t pinpointed that yet.
Dh also really likes [name]Violet[/name]. I like it just fine, but not feeling that ‘love’ thing about it.
I feel like I’m making this more difficult than it has to be, but I just keep looking at her thinking I haven’t quite found ‘the’ name yet. Thank you all so much for your help so far. You are helping to keep a new mom from losing it.
I think [name]Alice[/name] would fit perfectly with your other girls, and the ‘s’ sound in each name would connect them. …Plus, you would have the option to use [name]Alli[/name] as a nickname.
You mentioned that you like [name]Margot[/name], but it just doesn’t fit. Maybe it’s the hard ‘G.’ Is it possible that she’s more of a [name]Marlowe[/name]? I knew a [name]Marlowe[/name] once, and she was petite, and delicate, so that’s the association I have with that name. To me it’s just a beautiful name, and if my daughter wasn’t [name]Willow[/name], she might have been [name]Marlowe[/name].
The first name I thought of was [name]Abigail[/name]?
Some more suggestions; (to go with [name]Carys[/name] [name]Elizabeth[/name] and [name]Lucy[/name] [name]Annabel[/name])

[name]Hope[/name] these help!
Congrats on the birth of your baby girl! Dont fret about not giving her a name right away. It is more important that you take your time and give her the right name then making a hasty decision. I must say I [name]LOVE[/name] your daughters names. They are just my style and all 4 names are high on my lists of favorites. [name]Lucy[/name] [name]Annabel[/name] is actually the exact combo I have picked out, and [name]Elizabeth[/name] is my favorite girls name ever, [name]Carys[/name] would probably be in my top 5 as well. So I’d say we have pretty similar tastes
I understand your reservation with [name]Isla[/name]. As pretty as it sounds the spelling and pronounciation always keeps me from really loving it. Also with the ln sounding like [name]May[/name]-uh I wouldnt suggest using it.

PS The way you describe your baby girl makes me think she would suit [name]Lily[/name].
i think [name]Alice[/name] and [name]Iris[/name] fit so nicely, but do they sound too similar to [name]Carys[/name]?
[name]Ivy[/name], [name]Zoe[/name], [name]Hazel[/name], [name]Sylvie[/name], [name]Adele[/name], [name]Adelie[/name], [name]Olive[/name], [name]Siri[/name], and [name]Elin[/name] all balance out the sounds of your sibset and last name really well.
[name]Verity[/name]?
I love [name]Alice[/name] and [name]Catherine[/name] (first or middle).
