I’m reviving this bandwagon as I’m very curious what name from my list you guys think is Clara’s sister. Clara is my most favorite names who honors a very selfless person in my life. Scarlett is a subtle honor for my aunt, Let@. As usual, you can pick one name from my shortlist and tell me why you think she is Clara Scarlett’s sister. The Names:
Alice January
Eula Merit
Greta Melody
Josephine Favor “Jo”
Jovie Eleanor
Luella Joy “Lula”
Martha Clementine
Phoebe Kate
Royce Madeleine
Ruby Louella
Susanna Marigold “Sunny”
Willa Dorothy
Bonus: Which name would you object most for Clara’s sister and why?
i would choose [name_f]Clara[/name_f] [name_f]Scarlett[/name_f] & [name_f]Willa[/name_f] [name_f]Dorothy[/name_f]!
stylistically, the names feel very similar to me. [name_f]Clara[/name_f] and [name_f]Willa[/name_f] are beautiful together, both in terms of sound and look. [name_f]Scarlett[/name_f] feels a little modern next to [name_f]Dorothy[/name_f], but the names are both so established and well-known that it doesn’t matter imo.
and in terms of what i would object to, i’d have to choose [name_u]Royce[/name_u] [name_f]Madeleine[/name_f]. i do think that [name_f]Madeleine[/name_f] works very well with [name_f]Dorothy[/name_f], but [name_u]Royce[/name_u] does not go with [name_f]Clara[/name_f] at all imo. [name_f]Clara[/name_f] is very feminine and classic, while [name_u]Royce[/name_u] is more masculine and modern. they seem stylistically unmatched in that way - i would expect [name_u]Royce[/name_u] to be Clara’s brother.
stylistically alice and clara a perfect match: soft traditional, and feminine without being overly frilly ! despite sharing 3 letters, they both retain a sound and quality unique to them, which is always a bonus when it comes to sibsets !
uncommon word name january feels fresh and reminiscent of the month’s main qualities: new beginnings and hope. this makes for a meaningful name, like that of your beloved clara scarlett.
[name_f]Clara[/name_f] [name_f]Scarlett[/name_f] and… [name_f]Alice[/name_f] [name_u]January[/name_u]!
…and I have no other explanation other than that [name_f]Clara[/name_f] and [name_f]Alice[/name_f] are the perfect sisters
Not sure if there’s any special meaning behind [name_u]January[/name_u] but I also love the word name connection
(If I had to choose one to object to, I’d pick [name_u]Royce[/name_u] [name_f]Madeleine[/name_f]. Ik they’re both vintage names but [name_f]Clara[/name_f] feels too feminine for Royce?)
[name_f]Clara[/name_f] is classic and clear as a bell. [name_f]Scarlett[/name_f] is sharp, relatively modern, with a cowgirl flair. The names that would best fit her sister are:
[name_f]My[/name_f] favourite is [name_f]Susanna[/name_f] [name_f]Marigold[/name_f]. [name_f]Clara[/name_f] and [name_f]Susanna[/name_f] are both bright, sunny classics, [name_f]Scarlett[/name_f] and [name_f]Marigold[/name_f] are both associated with colours (red and gold, respectively).
I object to [name_u]Royce[/name_u] [name_f]Madeleine[/name_f]. [name_u]Royce[/name_u] feels completely masculine to me.
With [name_f]Clara[/name_f] [name_f]Scarlett[/name_f], I’m going with:
[name_f]Phoebe[/name_f] [name_f]Kate[/name_f]
The reasons:
[name_f]Phoebe[/name_f] and [name_f]Clara[/name_f] are both familiar but not super, super popular. Both are classic but fresh, sweet but strong, lively but solid
[name_f]Phoebe[/name_f] and [name_f]Clara[/name_f] are subtly linked via their meanings - bright, shining, radiant, clear - which is sweet
[name_f]Kate[/name_f] and [name_f]Scarlett[/name_f] both are a bit of sass and sharpness to the name!
If I was to object to one, I’d say:
[name_u]Royce[/name_u] [name_f]Madeleine[/name_f]
The reasons:
It’s not a bad name, but it has such different vibes / feels. [name_u]Royce[/name_u] is rugged and southern, very cool, a bit preppy. [name_f]Clara[/name_f] [name_f]Scarlett[/name_f] feels more refined and classic (though still fun)
[name_u]Royce[/name_u] has such a distinctive sound and feels very underused in comparison to [name_f]Clara[/name_f]
[name_f]Clara[/name_f] and [name_f]Susanna[/name_f] both have that sophisticated, older vibe, while still getting modern usage!! They both feel so sunny and bright, while being very established and known at the same time!!
I also love [name_f]Scarlett[/name_f] and [name_f]Marigold[/name_f] together, as both feel more modern (while still having a history of use) and both point to colors (scarlet and gold!!). What a nice, sweet tie in!!
Finally, I like [name_u]Sunny[/name_u] with [name_f]Clara[/name_f] as it gives the image of snow crystals melting on a sunny day!! So sweet and fun
The name I’d object to is [name_f]Eula[/name_f] [name_u]Merit[/name_u], as I find [name_f]Eula[/name_f] too similar to [name_f]Clara[/name_f], sharing the two syllables, L and vowel sounds.
I spent a while deliberating between [name_f]Susanna[/name_f] [name_f]Marigold[/name_f] and [name_f]Phoebe[/name_f] [name_f]Kate[/name_f], deciding to go for [name_f]Phoebe[/name_f] in the end. [name_f]Susanna[/name_f] is such a great match in vibe for [name_f]Clara[/name_f], but I prefer Phoebe’s distinct sounds, making the two a more dashing pair.
