Inspired by the many lovely ‘berry court’ posts I’ve seen around lately!
Leonora Elizabeth is the perfect-est combo of all time, for me. It is my daughter’s name. She’s absolutely the best, in every way. So, without further ado, members of the jury, which combos out of these deserve the place as my Leo’s sister?
(And I’m aware that Leonora is sort of an outsider, compared to all my other names–no nature/word name? gasp!–which is why I struggle to find sisters for her, lol)
Thank you in advance, Berries!

[name_f]Cordelia[/name_f] [name_f]Sonnet[/name_f] - I am already in love with [name_f]Leonora[/name_f] [name_f]Elizabeth[/name_f], but [name_f]Cordelia[/name_f] [name_f]Sonnet[/name_f] as a sister to [name_f]Leonora[/name_f], perfection personified!
[name_f]Beatrix[/name_f] Nocturne - A sassier sister to [name_f]Leonora[/name_f], [name_f]Beatrix[/name_f] Nocturne has the X-factor but remains classic, albeit with a sci-fi edge.
[name_f]Marilla[/name_f] [name_f]Sunshine[/name_f] - Similar to my rambling for [name_f]Beatrix[/name_f] Nocturne, I think [name_f]Leonora[/name_f] would find a perfect sister in [name_f]Marilla[/name_f]. In fact, even before I started reading the post, [name_f]Marilla[/name_f] came to mind.

[name_f]Leonora[/name_f] used to be top of my list! She’s so beautiful and I love seeing her getting some love!
.
I like:
-
[name_f]Marilla[/name_f] [name_f]Sunshine[/name_f] (my favourite of the options!)
-
[name_f]Rosalind[/name_f] [name_f]Amelia[/name_f] [name_f]Meadow[/name_f] (Leo and Ossie?! swoon)
- [name_f]Beatrix[/name_f] [name_u]Dove[/name_u]
-
[name_f]Maud[/name_f] [name_f]Wisteria[/name_f] (shorter but still strong and uncommon so I think it stands with [name_f]Leonora[/name_f] well, my 2nd favourite of the options)
-
[name_f]Felicity[/name_f] Glenrose
.
I think work less well:
-
[name_f]Flora[/name_f] [name_f]Melody[/name_f] / [name_f]Flora[/name_f] [name_f]Grace[/name_f] (the shared “-ora” ending makes them super matchy)
-
[name_u]Anne[/name_u] [name_f]Caledonia[/name_f] (Anne is lovely but gets paled in comparison to both [name_f]Leonora[/name_f] itself and the nickname [name_u]Leo[/name_u], even with the MN Caledonia)

With the lovely [name_f]Leonora[/name_f] [name_f]Elizabeth[/name_f], I’m rooting for:
[name_f]Felicity[/name_f] Glenrose - beautiful, elegant, zippy and joyful, with a touch of refinement and regality, while still remaining light, summery and jubilant. Glenrose, while very different to [name_f]Elizabeth[/name_f], gives me a similar vibe - a name that has meaning or has been passed down through family?
[name_f]Cordelia[/name_f] [name_f]Sonnet[/name_f] - poetic, literary and lovely, with such a beautiful meaning and sound! It’s elegant but fresh and modern, meaningful and lovely
[name_f]Marilla[/name_f] [name_f]Sunshine[/name_f] - bright, lovely and zippy, unexpected and warm. I like the literary feel that matches with [name_f]Cordelia[/name_f], the nature-y feel of [name_f]Sunshine[/name_f] that fits with Glenrose, and the elegant, but slightly unexpected feel of [name_f]Marilla[/name_f] that goes with Leonora!!
I like how this also gives you the nickname sets of:
[name_f]Nora[/name_f], [name_f]Lissy[/name_f], [name_u]Cleo[/name_u] and [name_f]Milly[/name_f]
[name_u]Leo[/name_u], [name_f]Flick[/name_f], [name_u]Cory[/name_u] and [name_m]Mills[/name_m]

I love the old-fashionedness of all the names, plus a little bit vintage and lacy in the middle spot!! I also think you could do updated nns, with [name_u]Leo[/name_u], [name_u]Audie[/name_u], Bea/Trixie, & [name_f]Flick[/name_f] being such a cute set!! Overall I really love these together <3

[name_f]Leonora[/name_f] [name_f]Elizabeth[/name_f] is lovely. I saw [name_f]Leontyne[/name_f] [name_m]Price[/name_m] as [name_f]Leonora[/name_f] in La forza del destino, and [name_f]Leonora[/name_f] will always remind me of glorious singing.

[name_f]Philippa[/name_f] [name_f]Maud[/name_f]: [name_f]Leonora[/name_f] and [name_f]Philippa[/name_f] are both strong names that reminds me of animals. [name_f]Leonora[/name_f] isn’t etymologically related to most [name_u]Leo[/name_u]- names, but it has the same associations, while [name_f]Philippa[/name_f] means “friend of horses”. [name_f]Elizabeth[/name_f] and [name_f]Maud[/name_f] are both [name_f]English[/name_f] classics.
[name_f]Stella[/name_f] [name_u]Blythe[/name_u]: [name_f]Leonora[/name_f] and [name_f]Stella[/name_f] both remind me of the Renaissance and Baroque - [name_f]Leonora[/name_f] is a flouncy Italian name with several famous 17th century bearers, [name_f]Stella[/name_f] was, of course, used by [name_u]Sidney[/name_u]. [name_f]Elizabeth[/name_f] and [name_u]Blythe[/name_u] share “b” and “th” sounds.
[name_f]Beatrix[/name_f] [name_f]Christabel[/name_f]: [name_f]Leonora[/name_f] and [name_f]Beatrix[/name_f] are both strong, cheerful classics with oft misrepresented etymologies. [name_f]Elizabeth[/name_f] and and [name_f]Christabel[/name_f] are both names of famous [name_f]English[/name_f] suffragettes.

[name_f]Rosalind[/name_f] [name_f]Meadow[/name_f] (I would personally leave out [name_f]Amelia[/name_f] or keep [name_f]Amelia[/name_f] and drop [name_f]Meadow[/name_f] so no nature make to match Leonora)
[name_f]Felicity[/name_f] Glenrose
I like that these are all pretty and romantic names but have something no-nonsense and industrious about them like [name_f]Leonora[/name_f]. Some of the other names - like [name_f]Maud[/name_f] - feel a little too self-consciously old fashioned for [name_f]Leonora[/name_f]. Then to me, [name_f]Stella[/name_f] seems to compete with [name_f]Leonora[/name_f] rather than complementing her.

Firstly [name_f]Leonora[/name_f] [name_f]Elizabeth[/name_f] is stunning
You have a beautiful list so it was tricky to narrow down but I think I would choose…
[name_f]Beatrix[/name_f] [name_f]Christabel[/name_f] ~ clearly you’re having a love affair with the name [name_f]Beatrix[/name_f] she features so heavily on your list so it felt strange for me not to use [name_f]Beatrix[/name_f]! I can completely understand why you love her she’s elegant, strong, has sweet nicknames [name_f]Bea[/name_f] + [name_f]Trixie[/name_f], visually interesting with the ‘x’ ending and has a beautiful meaning. I also think [name_f]Leonora[/name_f] & [name_f]Beatrix[/name_f] feel very cohesive. Regarding middle names I had to choose [name_f]Christabel[/name_f]. I love love love [name_f]Christabel[/name_f] she’s this whimsical, ethereal name that oozes magic and fairy dust so of course [name_f]Christabel[/name_f] was my favourite middle name option. I think [name_f]Leonora[/name_f] [name_f]Elizabeth[/name_f] & [name_f]Beatrix[/name_f] [name_f]Christabel[/name_f] is a beautiful pairing.
[name_f]Marilla[/name_f] [name_f]Sunshine[/name_f] ~ oh gosh this felt very strange but I have completely bypassed my lovely [name_f]Cordelia[/name_f] with the sweet middle [name_f]Sonnet[/name_f] for this name which has never been on my radar. However [name_f]Marilla[/name_f] just belongs with [name_f]Leonora[/name_f] & [name_f]Beatrix[/name_f]. [name_f]Marilla[/name_f] has this bright, summery vibe and has the unexpectedness of [name_f]Leonora[/name_f] making even the fashionable [name_f]Beatrix[/name_f] feel surprising. The imagery surrounding her consists of sandy beaches, clear crystal blue seas, hot hot days and vintage inspired polka dot swimsuits. I have strong imagery of European seaside towns with the clay white wash buildings, terracotta tiles and narrow pretty streets. She just screams holiday especially with the middle name [name_f]Sunshine[/name_f] and I love this overall aesthetic for this sibling set.
[name_f]Felicity[/name_f] Glenrose ~ This was challenging but I wanted to finish the sibling set off with a different ending to the strong ‘a’ of [name_f]Leonora[/name_f] & [name_f]Marilla[/name_f] and I was immediately drawn to [name_f]Felicity[/name_f]. I think [name_f]Felicity[/name_f] is beautiful a lovely virtue name that feels whimsical, glamorous, elegant and bright. Glenrose is just so fun and sounds fabulous with [name_f]Felicity[/name_f]. Such a gorgeous name.
