Best baby name trends?

The counterpart to the https://forum.nameberry.com/t/worst-baby-name-trends/342865 topic! What are your favorite baby name trends right now?! I quite like the “surname as first name” trend (only for boys, though) and the “herb and flower garden” names (like [name_u]Sage[/name_u], [name_f]Rosemary[/name_f], [name_u]Basil[/name_u], etc.)

I like some nature (and word) names becoming more popular, as well as older names coming back into style. I also like more obscure Biblical names coming back into style.

I love nature names and the sound of names starting/ending in O and X. I also love boys names ending in S, e.g [name_m]Rufus[/name_m], [name_m]Fergus[/name_m], [name_m]Angus[/name_m] which seem to be quite trendy at the moment as well.

I have to agree with celestial names, although I’m not sure if I would use one for my kid. It would have to be the perfect name. I also like old/traditional names, and it’s nice to see some of them making a comeback

Love the garden trend, celestial trend(even though I’m pretty sure I’m not going to use them), traditional names and the ‘ee’ sound([name_f]Hallie[/name_f]/Callie/Kylie) trend

Some great ones have been mentioned but another I like is mythological names/names of gods/goddesses - [name_f]Juno[/name_f], [name_f]Freya[/name_f], [name_f]Astrid[/name_f] etc.

I do like the garden names, too, for the most part! The mythological naming trend is cool, too.

I am loving all the vintage revivals. Seeing a fresh appreciation for some old classics is particularly great.

Another favorite of mine is international names. I love seeing people discover and use names tied to their roots, whether they be Irish or [name_m]German[/name_m], [name_f]Indian[/name_f] or Russian, you name it!

I honestly love most of the trends! Garden names for girls, vintage names, surnames for boys; I love seeing these used

I feel like this is an unpopular opinion on here, but I love modern names with the -er ending. Some of my favourites are [name_u]Harper[/name_u], [name_u]Wilder[/name_u], [name_u]Sawyer[/name_u], [name_u]Ryker[/name_u], [name_m]Booker[/name_m] & [name_u]Hunter[/name_u].

  • Old nickname names coming back
    I’ve seen names like [name_f]Nellie[/name_f], [name_f]Della[/name_f], [name_f]May[/name_f], [name_u]Josie[/name_u] quite a bit online, they have a certain charm.

  • The rise in Spanish names
This isn’t a trend as much as it is a reflection of the increase of Spanish speakers in the US. It’s nice to see classics like [name_m]Jose[/name_m], [name_u]Maria[/name_u], [name_f]Soledad[/name_f], [name_m]Santiago[/name_m], etc. being used more.
