Thinking back, some names just stick with me.
Sometimes they are just stand-out names, and sometimes the person who has the name makes them stand-out. It’s often the names I hate the most which I do a total 360 on if someone I love has them.
For instance, I met a girl as a teenager named [name]Drusilla[/name]. She was very striking looking and had a real grace and charm about her. She was about 6"3 and had long, tapered limbs and a kind of quiet slow voice. I was so glamourised at the time, feeling totally unglamorous myself!
Now I think the name [name]Drusilla[/name] is beautiful.
[name]Drusilla[/name] LaVere in fact; very elegant!
A name which I found bewitching without even the charisma of the person:
[name]Lottie[/name] [name]Tempest[/name]-[name]Monroe[/name] (that is the surname not the mn btw!)
[name]How[/name] about any of you?
Most impressive name you have ever come across?
A young girl name [name]Elora[/name]. She was named after a town up north (in [name]Canada[/name]) and she went by [name]Ellie[/name]. It just struck me as such a pretty name. Unfortunately I don’t have any more than that
[name]Long[/name] ago, I knew a girl called [name]Patience[/name] [name]Esther[/name] (now that may not be the best name but it’s certainly interesting! ). Oh, [name]August[/name] [name]Finch[/name] is wonderful and I love [name]Drusilla[/name] LaVere and [name]Lottie[/name] [name]Tempest[/name]-[name]Monroe[/name]. I wonder if [name]Lottie[/name] is actually a [name]Charlotte[/name]? [name]Tempest[/name]-[name]Monroe[/name] is one of the best hyphenated surnames I’ve heard in quite sometime. There is a British actress named Honeysuckle Weeks and yes, that’s her name! Her siblings are [name]Perdita[/name] and [name]Rollo[/name]! [name]How[/name] divine!
I love [name]Perdita[/name]. And the meaning ‘lost’ I also find quite beautiful actually.
I fell in love with it watching 'The [name]Winter[/name]‘s Tale’ as a child. The [name]Shakespeare[/name] play with the best names in imo: [name]Hermione[/name], [name]Perdita[/name], [name]Leontes[/name], Camillo. All so great!
This is one of my favorite interesting names ever:
[name]Chaunce[/name]”
It’s pronounced shawn-say, and it’s the name of a good friend. I think her name is so pretty, and where I’m from, the “n” is very prominently pronounced, so it sounds so pretty to me. She was named this because her mom once met someone named [name]Chaunce[/name]” in college and fell in love with it.
The only issue is that her name is always mispronounced as [name]Chauncey[/name] all the time. This is seriously one of my favorites.
What do you guys think? [name]Love[/name], hate, unsure?
I [name]LOVE[/name] it! It reminds me a little of the feeling [name]Charmian[/name]: kind if silky, very elegant, tricky to pull off but a v impressive one! It sounds a little like ‘chancey’ which I personally think is a cool association. Haha! Does she have an equally impressive middle name? Maybe [name]Chaunce[/name]” is enough name on its own
I met a woman from Ghana named Rejoice. I was so struck by her name that I asked her about it and she said that in her culture the fathers pick the children’s names and her father was so happy to have her that he named her Rejoice. I have always thought that was so beautiful, both the name and the story.
I’m so glad you love it! I think [name]Chaunce[/name]” is such a pretty name, and I definitely get the silky feel from it. Her middle name is [name]Alexandria[/name], which I think is also stunning. I wish I could say her last name because it’s so darn cool. I’ll just say it starts with “[name]Bird[/name]”, so her name is so elegant and interesting to me.
The only weird thing, in my opinion, is that her younger sister is named [name]Brittany[/name]. Which feels boring with [name]Chaunce[/name]”.
I know a woman named Chelan – after [name]Lake[/name] Chelan in [name]Washington[/name] State – which is interesting, beautiful and suits her really well!
I knew an [name]Anya[/name] Soriya once who was so smart and gorgeous and the name was perfect. I can’t remember her last name, but she went by both her first and middle - and who could blame her, really, with an awesome name like that?

[name]Ah[/name], I love the name and the story behind it! It’s unusual for an African father to be happy about a daughter’s birth. It’s usually a male child that is the most desired in many cultures. [name]Lovely[/name]! Thanks for sharing.
