Best Nickname for the name "Archard"?

I’m having trouble picking a nick-name for a character names Archard. He will go by his nickname and his last name is [name_m]Pollard[/name_m].

Also: I’ve thought about naming him Archard [name_m]Jacob[/name_m] and simply go by the nickname A.J. but to be honest, I don’t think that A.J. suits him and I’m considering naming an another character A.J.

So, A.J. is not an option for this character.

Anyways.

He is one of those bad-boy-ish characters and we really don’t know much about his background; but we know that he is swarthy, has dark hair, grey eyes, and is tall.

There are tons of nick-name possibilities for this name but i’ve narrowed it down to these three: [name_m]Arc[/name_m], [name_m]Arch[/name_m] or [name_m]Archie[/name_m].

(His love interest’s name is Laureline)

I’d go with [name_m]Arc[/name_m] or [name_m]Arch[/name_m], because the “ie” ending of [name_m]Archie[/name_m] makes it, for me, sound [the opposite of bad-boy-ish (don’t know the word)].
Personally I like [name_m]Arc[/name_m] better

[name_m]Arch[/name_m] I honestly before I looked at the whole post, shorted the name myself to this.
