I really just like [name]Vi[/name].
I votes doe Vie, but I thought it rhymes with [name]Rye[/name]. I didn’t notice that you were pronouncing it vee.
I like [name]Vi[/name], rhymes with [name]Rye[/name] or [name]Lola[/name].
Thanks for the votes!! For some reason I just can’t get behind [name]Vi[/name] (rhymes with eye). Maybe it’s because it reminds me of [name]Viv[/name] (which for absolutely no good reason, rubs me the wrong way) or it could be because I really prefer nicknames that sound more complete, and not like someone just quit saying the name halfway through. That’s why I can’t stand when people call me [name]Steph[/name] (shudder–say the whole thIng or call me something pretty!)
I would go with [name]Vi[/name] or Vie. By the way, [name]Viola[/name] [name]Sofia[/name] is an absolutely stunning name.
[name]How[/name] about [name]Ollie[/name]? (ah-lee)
I’d go with just plain [name]Vi[/name], short, sweet and spunky. [name]Viola[/name] [name]Sofia[/name] is absolutely gorgeous, congratulations!
I adore [name]ViVi[/name]! (said like “viv - ee”)
The most common one is [name]Vi[/name] (prn. vye), but before clicking in, I thought about a nickname and the first one that popped into my head was [name]Lola[/name], and I was so excited to see that on your list. I voted for that one. “[name]Ola[/name]” is another nn option. But I like [name]Lola[/name]. Cute, spunky. You never know what you’ll call her until she gets here though – sometimes a totally different nickname (unrelated to her name) takes shape and ends up sticking, like “Bug” or “[name]Lee[/name]-[name]Lee[/name]” or something random.
Nn of Violie.
I like [name]Via[/name]. I’m on an “ia” name kick- [name]Nia[/name], [name]Via[/name], [name]Mia[/name], [name]Lia[/name]…
I like [name]Vi[/name]!!!
Thanks, guys! I’m glad you like the name–it took a few [name]LONG[/name] threads to work it out
Violie is adorable!!! That one never occurred to me. What about Vylie (rhymes with [name]Kylie[/name])? Might roll off the tongue a little easier. Any other nn spelling variations?
@dindlee DH’s favorite is [name]Via[/name] (vee-uh–he absolutely hates vy-uh) and I also just love [name]Nia[/name], [name]Pia[/name], [name]Fia[/name] (would have been the nn if we had chosen [name]Sofia[/name] as her first name), [name]Mia[/name], [name]Lia[/name] et al. Gorgeous! Only concern is that using a short I nn will confuse people with the long I pronunciation of [name]Viola[/name]. I know an [name]Arabella[/name] (air-uh-[name]Bella[/name]) whose nn is [name]Ari[/name] (arrri) and I find myself stumbling over the two sometimes.
I also love [name]Lola[/name]. DH is less into it, but I’m open to using a couple nicknames.
[name]Vivi[/name] and [name]Vi[/name] are just too [name]Vivian[/name] (or even [name]Aviva[/name]) for me. [name]Just[/name] not my style. Open to more ideas!!
[name_f]My[/name_f] name is [name_f]Viola[/name_f] and my friends often call me [name_f]Vi[/name_f], [name_f]Violetta[/name_f] or [name_f]Lili[/name_f]
